I had to watch a lot of French movies in college. I eventually found out that I could read the subtitles if I just put the VCR on fast-forward. It was kind of like watching Max Headroom blipverts, but I got the gist of the movie. I'd guess that I was watching them way faster than a speed where one could understand the audio.
Thing is, most dvd players I've seen won't show subtitles in fast forward.
And now I have trouble telling the difference between Goddard and Benny Hill.
Nobody needs some stupid light on their monitor to tell them when important emails come in. That's what toolbars/docks are for.
The reason Apple's software/hardware works is they're working on a very limited amount of hardware. No matter what MS would prefer, they still have to build Windows to work with a lot of other manufacturers, not to mention a whole slew of peripherals, and work with a whole lot of third party drivers and whatnot.
Oh, and merging your computer and your phone? I don't care how stable they claim these things are going to be. I don't want to wait for a damn computer to reboot so I can use my phone. A regular analog land line phone will pretty much always be more dependable than a computer integrated phone.
Wow, musicians are recording digitally now? Rolling Stone might as well write an article about that new technology, the CD, or that upcoming artist, Al Jolsen. (Not to mention, they don't even talk about Pro Tools Free, which gives you twice the tracks that they had on Sgt. Pepper.)
I don't know who to blame, Wired or Carmack, but Road Runner was not a Hanna-Barbera character, he was a Warner Brothers character. Not to mention, Disney, Warner Brothers, and pretty much every other animation house was using background paintings some thirty years before Hanna-Barbera existed.

The Double Feature Finder goes to moviefone and finds movies in a row you can see.

Hey, it's all a programmed memory, they're allowed to make up the physics as they go.
