I mean the 9700 was clearly the answer to the Gefore 4 Line (specificaly the ti4600)....And like I saw someone else mention..ATI is pretty good at keeping things under-wrap (well, except others software maybe) so I wonder what they have up their sleeve?
SuSE has had this for a while, what they call the Live CD. I believe they had them with the all the 7.x distros. And yes, it's available over at their site.
Yea, I know SuSE isnt availble free to d/l anymore, but I still like the distro quite a bit...
Can't get to the original article either, anyone have a mirror? I would like to read it;oP
I do like the fact that Knoppix can deal with 2GB of data due to on-the-fly-compression...and since it's running off a cd anyway, I'm sure it won't make a big performance difference...
Hmm...I remember doing something similar on my palm m100 (yea, a while ago) just not animated (whoopee)
and aside from that...kenwood came out with something almost exactly like this a few years back for their entertainment systems, and sony had something just like it too
and since im too lazy to go get links, im sure ill be modded down. but the kenwood jobber was on the cover of crutchfield when it came out...
im pretty sure that any unsolicited and unwarranted mail is spam.
i didnt ask for it, so i dont want it. And if it's so amazing and life-changing that I need it, I'm sure I'll find it on one of the many news sites I read.
I think it would be pretty hard for them to throw you in jail or even fine you if you email a vendor regarding a warranty or RMA issue...
For those Mac OS X users out there, have you noticed operations that seemed slower using Mac OS X compared to similar operations on other operating systems?
No matter if they have, no true Mac user would ever say so, and you know it.
Not only that, but with respected tech sites churning out articles like this, a lot of people are bound to be turned off.
In my opinion, (yea, I know - dangerous) Microsoft tried too many tricks too soon. In the next year or so is when linux is really going to have a chance to break out and rain down upon the masses. I'm not a linux zealot, but I just see this as a real oppurtunity for the OS to really get out there and make itself known to even the most casual computer user. Especially with backing from IBM...I would IBM probably has a pretty good hate on for Bill and m$ for the whole OS/2 deal years back.
Where does it say that GM is claiming this as something new and extraordinary?
Aside from the honda's, there was also the mitsu 3000 GT VR4/Dodge Stealth RT that had 4 wheel steering...
Also, and this is my opinion, a GM suburban would be better to use b/c it is a much lighter vehicle to begin with, and the engines available still allow the tahoe/suburban to tow as much, and more in some case than the ford suck-'scursion....
You have to stay in this underground bunker, stuffed full of servers and UPS, and you have to live on hot pockets and instant coffee. You can't go outside, since there's only frozen tundra there.
But, you get full internet connectivity, and you can be put on the waiting list for a trip to Mars.
Isn't the dream most uf us have been waiting for;o)
I don't really think they'll need to worry about upgrading...they are designing it for what the need...and their needs aren't bound to change that much. Even if they add a new area to the park, they just expand what they have, they don't need to upgrade or replace anything.
This is a theme park, remember?
'To be commercially useful, these devices will have to perform several times better than this; this should be possible with further improvements, the researchers estimate.'
i would assume better to also be cheaper (they are talking about it being commercially useful...)
Maybe you should...and take note about how they are more efficient....
This looks interesting, especially if they caan improve this tech even further...but if they are to be fabbed in with the chip, does this mean we will have to expect Intel, AMD, and/or Transmeta to adopt this?
On the Midori page, there is a "Midori in Use" section...
Following the link to Gateway's Touch Pad, it doesn't even say anything about Midori Linux on the thing...Someone do this privately or something?
As for Hitachi's Flora-ie 55mi...well, I'm an ignorant American and can't Japanese...but I did notice it's being billed as a "mobile linux" device.
It just doesn't look to portable to me;oP
well...I almost feel obligated to ask

if you are going to go with a file that big, you might as well do shorten [ping.be] (.shn) files...
and hey, theres a plugin for winamp [etree.org] too!
