i'm sensing sarcasm here...but i'm going to reply anyway.
5. the last water-cooled system i did ran under 200 bucks. 4. wasn't loud...the eheim 1250 (inside the case) was barely audible, definately wasnt smelly; i was running a closed loop, no reservoir system, even when i opened it up about 3 months later. (trick is to use something similar to anti-freeze...keeps corrosion down and nasty micro-bacteria that can cause it to stank.) 3. uh, why not crank up that new p4 a bit(or athlonxp). the recent p4's have been quite overclockable. and think that's just a few MHz? the guys over at [H]ardOCP were able to get a *paltry* 4.44GHz out of 3.06 processor (yea, it was assited by a VapoChill unit, but it's still water cooled) with standard water-cooling alone, an increase of about 25-33% is pretty feasible I'd say that's a pretty decent increase... 2. sorry to disappoint...but i dont have a rock garden. 1. i didnt do it to impress anyone, i did it b/c having 2 quiet 120mm fans (on the radiator) and the pump was damn near silent. Far quieter than the 80mm fan i had on the alpha HS, or the 60mm ones on the alpha's in my main rig now.
whee.
yea, in most cases it's over-kill, some it's just absurd.... but for those of us enthusiasts, looking to get the most out of a pc, water-cooling is definately something worth looking into.
think of it as hot-rodding a car (i mean real rodding, not that rice crap)....some people think it's rediculous and wonder what the hell we're thinking. others just look and say "damn, that's just cool."
hmm..I can check my webmail without using yahoo or hotmail....in fact, i'm pretty sure most major (hell, even most mom n pops even) ISP's offer webmail.
as far as being in a country without dial up, save AOL...I feel bad for you, that's something that should be forced upon no one (eventhough you must love it)
i still think AOL is rediculous in the amount of pop ups and advertising in general that are produced by something you are already paying to use.
I'd have to say that if governments and educational facilities are dropping your product to go with something else...they might have a better 'business model' than you.
SCSI is sorta dead if you are looking a win9x point of view....you will get faster performance from an IDE drive there.
But for a server (and I hope you aren't using BSD to play games on) SCSI is where it's at (although SATA shows promise, the tech still has a little maturing to do)
SCSI sub-systems handle loads much better and are much better at dishing out data.
As a Christian (don't really like binding myself to a specific religion) and a Sporadic church goer (at least once a month more than just C&E) Church isnt really a bad thing, but it is wherever any gather in his name..sorry, off on a tagent...back to the topic, dogma.
I think it's a great satire piece on religion (especially Catholicism)and is something funny. As far as Catholicism goes, I think the movie really shows the fallacies of not only that religion, but pretty much organized religion in general. Now, I'm not saying organized religion is a bad thing, as it does bring people together for a common good (for the most part) but it is subject to being something percieved by humans from a literary work that was written from a human standpoint. As anything else, it's open to interpretation, and yes, a lot of things in the bible can be bent in many many ways - My favorite being that God gave man all plants bearing seed (save the apple), for which they could use.
Ok, I'm way off topic now....
so go ahead and laugh..it's ok, honest! im sure God isn't going to smite you due to your finding humor in something just because it's a spoof on something sacred.
PS: I'm not trolling I swear...I guess the combination of my tendancy
One thing I've failed to see anyone mention in these posts is D-Link's 802.11b setup, that when used with their equipment allows you to theoretically reach speeds of 22Mbps @ 2.4GHz.
I have the D-Link setup and have been more than happy with it.
I've also heard of people flashing Linksys and similar routers with the D-Link firmware, but do your research before hosing your router;oP
Also, phones are starting to move to the 5GHz range....and being that the proposed 802.11g spec would operate at 2.4GHz..could we see phones possibly start to move away from the 2.4GHz range? which could be a benefit, especially when boosting signal strength becomes more popular as people crave more distance from there Wi-Fi networks...
who cares....as long as it works...chances are you don't go past the first 2 or 3 pages.....
Exactly...if you don't agree to the license, you don't get permission to use/modify the code.....nuff said
lemme guess...
you're a lil salty because its your servers going down like a dress on prom night?

yea, and then instead of using 1024 bit keys, we'll be using 1Gb keys ;oP
well, thatpretty much answers everyones question as far as video use...forget about using it to watch your divx files from...

it's only the start...
im getting 610k from a euro server as well.
DING! boy that darn near gives me a chubby.

ah so you're the one to blame for all of the borked links I'm running into on yahoo?
just kidding..but seriously...what particular package did you run into problems with?

why doesnt the US get the fun stuff
Although the extra cooling on the OC'd R9700 or Ti4x00 might be a lil loud
I'm religious, and my whole take on the dinosuar thing is this -
God took 6 days to create all around, right?
well, who says that one of his 'days' is exactly a day/night cycle of light as we see it?
being omnipotent and all, and existing over infinite time, a day could easily equate to thousands of our 'days'
he did, after all, create humans on a different 'day' than beasts.
is that like Open Source writting? ;o)
do a search...yes this problem was fixed by ati.
grab the latest drivers...it was just a glitch in the first release.
or you could always flash the bios of your OEM card with the firmware from a retail card..

nah, the lights won't be going on and off at all...the site has been crushed.
;oP
or maybe the electric cut him off
yea, and it's going to be run over a 802.11b network, and the terrorists are gonna take over control of the dino-bot and cause havoc....
maybe they'll bring over a similarly designed godzilla and tear up the cities that way...
maybe disney is in on this...
heh.
well, that's all fine and dandy...unless your complierer is compromised....
actually, im pretty sure that size, not only performance does indeed dictate price....
take laptops, pda's, etc....
although i do agree..this is a tad pricey, considering you can get machines that are only slightly bigger, yet more powerfull..
caino
why wait?
blow the whistle now...that breaches their contract, which you can then recover any losses such as lost man hours working on the project, etc...
not one private party is interested in manned flights...
.sig there!
there is absolutely no interest obviously..
and there's no reason to try anyway...
