I saw a quote related to this recently. I don't remember the exact words but the gist of it was that a team gets much more done when they don't have to care about who gets the credit.
I really think it can help a lot in making the team feel more like a unit and reduce work related stress.
I'd be much happier buying an additional gpu for physics instead of a dedicated physics card. SLI benefits more applications, not just games with physics.
Here's another fun toy for special relativity http://lightspeed.sourceforge.net/. It shows how an object's appearance changes when it travels near light speed.
Indeed. People should rather start using phrases like "I'm gonna bomb you like Bush!" or "I'll give you the guantanamo treatment!". I wonder if that would open people's eyes.
I really dislike AAA batteries that almost all portable mp3 players require. I can see it's a design choice to make the player smaller, but you'll have to keep buying the batteries to use it. My old mp3 player wouldn't work with rechargeable AAA batteries because they have lower voltage. I had to make a hack to have it use external AA rechargeable batteries, and it wasn't pretty. Only one player in the review is mentioned being capable of using AA batteries, Panasonic D-snap.
Does anyone know a nice flash memory based player that works with rechargeable AA batteries?
They say that it's easy to shoot yourself in the foot with C/C++ memory management, but Java makes my feet like squiggly spaghetti and I don't even know where I stand.
I have a cheap Hauppauge WinTV card and I sometimes use alevt-date in linux to set clock. I've setup a script that sets clocks on 3 other computers aswell through ssh.
I don't get this logic. You make it sound like it's the film makers' responsibility to make you entertained. I know it's a gamble when buying consumables, but watching trailers and reading reviews help much in deciding if it's worth it.
I wanna travel to the future. Preferably faster than one second per second.

There's one in development, http://www.conflictomega.com/. Progress appears slow though.
I ask "what is this actually good for" to get even a small understanding of the problem he solved. Sure, it's explained in the abstract of this paper http://www.math.sciences.univ-nantes.fr/edpa/2001/ pdf/tchami.pdf but it doesn't help much.
Oh, I wondered what the big empty blocks in the middle of the text were. I have ad blocking with this http://everythingisnt.com/hosts.html

Enough of games already...
Why would companies ever allow someone to audit their systems? Sounds crazy that they'd agree to sign a contract like that.

I went to the site looking for the "very erotic images", but I couldn't see anything.
That's funny, but it doesn't model intelligence, just inhuman reaction speed. Better AI would predict where to set the paddle.

I bet they look like Darth Sidious or Darth Vader now.

Isn't that kind of how icculus.org works? You get all source code for the game, but to play it you need to buy the artwork+data.
So, a proof checking program would be like a debugger for mathematics?
