One of the recent bombings (I think it was the one filled with nails. What monster could do something like that??) in England caused many deaths, but it seems that was a combination of many unfortunate circumstances, for instance appearently most people didn't belive the security guard who tried to warn people that there was a bomb ("Oh no, this isn't London, nothing like that could happen here")
Fortunately, the two recent nail bombs in London didn't kill anyone. There were some pretty horrific injuries (including one young child who had a nail embedded in their head - thankfully removed safely).
People in London (or any other British city) take bomb warnings very seriously... being subject to a number of terrorist campaigns over recent years will do that...
I believe that over here (UK), it's a valid defence that the person/thing that's being defamed isn't of high enough standing to be defamed (i.e. whatever you say about them, peoples opinion of them can't get any worse).
