I seem to remember seeing photos of a similar design from the '50s on the web some place obscure. Very similar to some flying designs from the '50's which used a large cross section instead of the wide wings of the B1 and Horten etc.
Nothing self righteous about it, I've my fines, etc. what, so some little prick who breaks a ton of laws doesn't deserve to get a kick in the arse? If it was royalties out of your pocket, you'd complain? If some took your car for a joyride you'd be happy? no!
I know from my own kids friends that $100-$400 per month is not unusual, yep $450 a week is extreme but just watch people on trains and in shopping centres, It isn't hard to see people using up the dollars talking on mobiles.
I have worked in telcoms for 28+ years and all I hear is how great the US is and how we must be like them, we have 45% of our TV from the US and most of our music. Most big companies in Oz are owned/controlled by the US. And we follow them into war without careing about what the population actually says. We are about to go into 'free trade' with the US and the records already show that the US will use this to it's best advantage and to the detriment of Oz. Just add another star to the US flag.
to see if there is a new hit coming, listen to JJJ radio in Australia or on the web. What they play now is a hit on commercial radio 6 months later. and what they don't play will be a hit for the next 10 minutes. Pop culture sux.
Number portability just adds to the cost of the network as more inter carrier links and number crunching is required. Cheaper calls are offset by higher rental charges or contracts. As The US state of Australia found out, competition may have some impact at the beginning but once the smoke clears the total cost of communications is about the same to the average person. Competition has given us easier to get mobiles and kids with $450 per week mobile phone bills.
I have been following Linux / free software for about 8 years, and I have never found a useable desktop solution that came anywhere near being 'free'. As soon as a package or distribution got close to being useful, it was packaged up and money had to change hands before a legal copy could be obtained. Yes there is the situation where I could have spent hours downloading and installing and tuning, but then I have made a big investment in time to acheive what could have done in a 10th of the time with a bought distribution. 'Better' is in the eye of the be-moaner, there are only a few real cases where 'free' software is really better than commercial/shareware offerings.
People also missed the fact that they have not been given a jail sentence yet, they may get community service etc. or the chance to appeal. They knew it was illegal, do the crime, do the time!
WHY would I need to spend $1000's on a computer to tune into music when I can buy a $5 radio that never needs rebooting????? I own a calculator for a similar reason. Who are these people kidding? Internet is nice, fishing on a beach with a radio in the background is nicer.
using triangulation they can already work out where you r mobile phone is. Gosh are you all so bind that you can't work out this simple fact. GSM and CDMA can do it better than Analog.
Comments on the subject last time stated that the bill was poo poo, who wasn't listening??? Alston is still a moron, don't degrade us luddites by associating him with us! Luddites choose to bag/reform technology, Alston simply don't understand what the technology does.
Telecommunications is Oz is stiffled by low population and distance, not Telstra, etc. 90%+ can have broardband, only 5% want it.
I have have had several credit card size devices from 1994 or earlier that would hold addresses etc. And every Chip embeded smart card would also be counted here.
I understand that a couple of years ago that a complete list of bigpond email addresses was 'stolen' from a database. And it would be easy of an employee to sell data without being caught.
99% of Linux is on x86 platform, it is a threat to Windows, which is on the same hardware, not a threat to Mac, which is on different hardware. People buy a Mac for different reasons to those who use Linux. Most Linux users buy a distro and put it on the hardware of their choice, Mac users buy a package of software and hardware, getting a UN*X based OS in not the prime consideration for a Mac User.
Oz is a landmass equal to the USA, but with only 18million people. We are able to enjoy the outdoors for most of the year, so more people have a life away from fkn computers and the internet. It costs more to install bacause of lower population density, and the example of things better in the USA are often only based on local or regional prices, and not on national prices. ADSL will only work over 4 kms or so, on ggod copper pair, while the average distance for a suburban customer is not much less than that, so someone will miss out. The monoply is shrinting, but the returns are too low for other companies to take up the slack. The originator and Wirlpool distort the story for their own benefit, try to get more facts before posting crap!
Of course it's art, as is every other program and data set ever produced! I wanted to do an Art installation which started with a copy of the printed code and moving on to the running application on a computer.
If I read these correctly, I could produce an encrypted computer disc of some sort, and give written permission to enable people to decrypt that disc, for the purposes of backing up the data on the disc, and then people would be allowed to own the means to do that task. So that you could own the decryption mechanism, which may or may not work on other material, because I give you permission.

Multi-zone DVD players are legal in Oz, you can have whatever DVD that you want in Oz. But who wants to see more US crap on DVD.?
Come to Australia, multi zone DVD players and free ownership of card programmers.

The original posting should have been ammended, not to imply that almost and copy of IE on any OS, it only applies to WinXP.
