"Great, so let's burn coal and oil instead!!!" to put a fine point on it.
I don't think there's any question that the combination of 80% ethanol gasoline + hybrid vehicle technology + grid and/or photovoltaic recharging will be better for the environment than the status quo.
The nice thing about switch grass in particular is that it requires way less "help" than other crops, especially here in the good ole US of A. That makes it cheaper and requires less potentially damaging chemicals.
Clearly the only sustainable way to keep farming for gas is to rotate crops, use proper irrigation, fertilize appropriately, etc... just like farmers have been doing for years and years and years.
Although I'm not a big fan of President Bush, I do think switchgrass is a good idea, especially after hearing a scientist at a university talk about it on NPR after the State of the Union.
For the Chinese, more than likely it will work like other alternative DNS roots that transparently forward to ICANN any unknown requests. For the rest of the world, well, you just hope your DNS tree knows to contact the Chinese for their new TLDs. Alternatively, they may end up mapping those TLDs into 2LDs under.cn and just haven't told us yet.
As I understand it, astronomers use light-years-as-of-now to measure distance as that is the most relative to our frame of reference. I don't think they normally account for inflation. (There's a good economics pun in there somewhere but I'm too wired to make it out right now).
I saw that movie at the Alamo Drafthouse a couple years ago. After the movie, my friend turns to me and says, "so, were they trying to be funny on purpose?" My other buddy and I just pointed at him and laughed.
For the record, I think Perry's likely to win except in a couple cases. E.g., if school financing isn't solved and Perry is linked to the corruption scandal. This is why I say I think Kinky has a chance. I don't think he has a great chance of winning at this point. Having said that, he is running a serious campaign for governor, even though his positions are definitely atypical. You know the guy who ran Jesse Ventura's campaign is running Kinky's, right? We'll see what happens. I haven't even decided who I'm voting for. It definitely won't be Perry (great hair != good leader), Strayhorn (she has a mouth with its own brain and does not play well with others), or Chris Bell (eliminating TAKS? That's just stupid).
I'm a moderate and nearly always vote my conscience in the general election, though I'm not above voting in the Republican primary to vote down someone I don't like.
I'm not going to comment on whether his positions seem politically expedient or not. His whole point is "outsider", of course. Your comment about him not having "gathered the necessary voter signatures by now rather than waiting until the last sixty days before the deadline" betrays your ignorance of Texas' ridiculous election law. From Kinky's website:
Texas election law says Friedman will also have to collect 45,540 signatures to get on the 2006 ballot. He will not be able to start gathering signatures until March 8, the day after the state party primary elections, and can only collect signatures from registered Texans who did not vote in any primary. Friedman will have until May 11 to turn the signatures in and qualify for the ballot.
The campaign is on track to raise $1 million by March to collect more than 45,000 signatures, a brick wall of a hurdle for an independent to get on the ballot. The only man to do it was Sam Houston. But then, Sam didn't have the Internet: 30,000 have signed up at www.kinkyfriedman.com.
Star Locke doesn't have a snowball chance in hell of winning the Texas Governor position.
Agreed. I was going to post nearly the same language.:) I do think Kinky has a chance (I have in mind Ma & Pa Ferguson and Pappy O'Daniel), but I have to wonder if his campaign is percolating a little too sluggishly to have much chance of success. Perry's in the damn paper every day. It's hard as hell to compete with that.

Yeah, no shit. I'm always amazed at how each Windows vendor installs their software under Start->All Programs->Company Name->Product Name->Start Program. That's insane! It's no wonder people put application startups all over the Windows desktop — you can't find anything you want!
Aqua Teen Hunger Force is definitely "hit-or-miss, mostly miss" as stated by another poster. Having said that, there are 2 episodes I liked, laughed at, and still laugh at, the MC Peepants episode and the Happy Time Harry one with uncredited comedian David Cross.
Compared to the Simpsons at Season 4 or the Simpsons now? I've watched all of season 17 of the Simpsons so far and it's just not funny any more - it's become a vaguely amusing sitcom.
Fairly risky since half of new buisnesses fail in 5 years, but highly profitable if they pan out).
While half close their doors, by far most do not owe anyone any money. A sizeable majority closes at 0 or in the black. My source? Some lady with the Texas government who helps small businesses. Having said that, I doubt they have statistics on individual investors' losses/gains for those businesses.

No shit. I've wanted an FPU upgrade to my brain since high school. That would be my second cybermod after superhuman cyborg eyes.

"This solemn moment..." pure genius

Yeah, that episode. The write-up doesn't do the creepiness any justice, but it does get the humor aspect across.

Reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man". That one really creeped me out.

A request: Can you respond to the AC who replied to your post? S/He seems to to bring up some interesting points.

I'm surprised you didn't include ahab, hesed, and raham for the Hebrews.
Straw man. You may do that, but that doesn't mean every English speaker does, Christian or otherwise.
Mighty haughty of you there. Good luck with your career in holier-than-thouness.

Torx is the devil. I can't believe you mentioned TORX! They're second only to tiny Allen wrench screws in total suckage.
