There are already so many post that you proabably won't see this, and it has proabably already been pointed out. BUT..... There are jewlery stores that will give you a certificate or make you keep the reciept. With this, and if they have a policy in place, they will take the diamond (ring in your case) back. They will give you the full price you paid if you put it towards some other more expensive peice of jewlery. Think of it as trading up. They will give you a certain percentage if you just want money.
You will probably have to try and find a local store. In my experience the jewlery "chains" don't do anything like this.
When "line of sight" is used for FM stations it means that the signal can only carry to the horizon. Meaning your radio station would can only broadcast as far as you can see from the transmitter. This has to do with the type of wave, the fact that the earth is round, and the atmosphere. There are several website that discuss this. Search google for it.
We have Cox in Amarillo and Canyon. (that is actually what I use) But this wireless stuff off of the grain elevators gets to a lot of small towns that might not even have a local dial up.
I know this isn't the same, but where I live there is a company getting wireless broadband to rural towns by putting atennas and transmitters on the top of grain elevators. This works out pretty good since the terrane is flat and you can see another elevator from the top of your current one. I don't know how much area they cover, but it seems to be an interesting solution.
I think a boss should first of all know the staff under him and what their abilities are.
Know what each of them is good at and learn what each one wants to learn.
The biggest thing I can think of is to give credit where credit is due. The people that piss me off more than anyone are those who take sole credit for the work that their staff does.
So maybe it wasn't two cents worth.....let's call it a cent and a half then round up.
They could have a warning on on the media or something to be read when installing it that it is not work. Kinda like the warning that tobacco is bad for you.
When the Xbox was being developed there were rumors that it would play the dreamcast games. Does anyone know if it does?
Furthmore, this doesn't suprise me. Since the thing has been discontinued, and Sega agreeing to write games for the Xbox. It appears that Sega is trying to get out of the console producing business.
I think you bring up some very good points. I don't think that companies becoming more picky is a bad thing. I have seen several people in jobs that they are not qualified for at all.
Another way to look at the industry slowing down, is to compare it with the World War I era. We can think of Y2K as the war that everyone is gearing up for (generating business) then spending the money for things after Y2K because it is "safe" now. So for the moment people are set in technology, and don't need to buy anything. I don't think this will last long. Something new will come out that "everyone" needs.

I hope that this clears up some confusion.
I think it is sad when I look at /. and see the same article twice........on the same page.
Why are you developing for Mac in the first place?
It clearly states the price on the web site. It is "almost free"
Thank you, the slashdotting has already taken place.

I am talking about the panhandle of Texas. The company is amaonline (Amarillo Online). The entire panhandle is pretty much farm communities.

I really want a vacation for Christmas.....so that I can enjoy my xbox, gamecube, dvr, and other toys that everything is going to get me.
I would say that the very bad and unimaginative mama joke would be more of the troll here. Moron anonymous cowards.
If my memory serves there has been a "good" worm set loose to fix problems caused by a "bad" worm. Here is the slashdot article on it.
