Actually apple records lost the relitigation of the case - All trademarks are now owned by apple computer and licensed to apple corp (the record company) by virtue of a settlement made to prevent Apple corps. appealing.
That would no doubt require some kind of appropriation by congress which the president would no doubt veto. They can't use criminal sanctions because the president has ordered justice not to pursue actions against his buddies. Unless the dems have a super-majority in congress there isn't much they can do without the white house co-operating. Pretty much every bill that wasn't GOP originated has been vetoed since the dems took congress, well at least every one that tries to reign in the white house anyway.
You should probably check your state bar's rules - lawyers are not permitted to make false claims under any circumstances (although the federal government has sought to exempt prosecutors from these rules).
You can still purchase suplemental coverage in Britain - I know because I did when I lived there.
Despite all the nonsense being spouted on this side of the atlantic, British doctors are still private practitioners who bill the government for their work, they're not part of some great communist conspiracy or anything.
This is not that unusual - the reason it happens is something like this :
The judge hears all the evidence and concludes that it's not even close the defendant should win.
If he dismisses the case before it goes to the jury he can be certain that it will be appealed. If he lets the jury come back with a verdict in favor of the plaintiff it likely ends there. When this goes wrong and the jury returns an obviously stupid verdict the judge overrules it knowing that there will be an appeal but the defendant is no worse off than if the case had been dismissed before the jury verdict.
It varies by jurisdiction - but most have some options for "Post verdict relief" where the evidence did not support the jury's verdict. Even in criminal cases.
You know, have you thought about one thing: Does these kids have a place do go? I wonder about that, one night coming out of work I was chatting with the cop charged with chasing off the groups of kids outside the building. I said something about "who wants to stand out here anyway? Theres a perfectly good park with grass and places to sit etc. two blocks from here." to which the cop replied "We don't allow goofing off in the park, so they can't go there" really I mean WTF?!
The fascinating thing with the Radiohead experiment was that they probably received more money that way that they would have done through traditional distribution even though many people paid nothing at all.
I wasn't saying there was any catching up to do. The post I replied to asked for another agency that landed something on mars. Mars 3 apparently landed intact and died of other causes shortly after.
For a two engine plane I believe the rules put you at most 180 minutes from an airport. Thats a long glide even from 40,000 feet. Thats a worst case scenario of course.
No, because other devices are banned as well, not just cellphones. Anyway, why would the airlines concern themselves with the inability of cellphone base stations to handle this supposed problem ?
Because the FCC prohibits their use while in flight. (The FAA does too, but is looking into changing the rules).
Generally all radio receivers/transmitters are prohibitied - the theory behind banning receivers is the small amount of radiation from the local oscillator. Most of the concerns are probably overblown - pilots have made reports of electronics interfering with aircraft systems, however aircraft manufacturers disagree.
Where somebody could get screwed is when the members of the electoral college decide to disregard their instructions and cast their votes for somebody else.
If you we're printing the ford logo all over this thing - I could see a trademark problem.
Otherwise just printing pictures of cars which happen to bear ford trademarks cannot be infringing, otherwise every single photograph of a public street would need all trademarks blanked out before you could sell it.
"My father fought in the first Format War against VHS"
Mine didn't - he was a navigator on a spice freighter.
Already did - I needed a new DVD player and could pick up an HD-DVD player with two movies for $60 at my local walmart.
And you think Michael Jackson is going to turn away apple's money ?

Not near as sick as the case of the insurance company who cancelled a womans insurance because she had breast cancer

If you're participating in an armed revolt who cares whether your gun is legal or not ?
The ammendment was to strip the immunity provision from the bill
For Gods sake, how many times ?
A republic is not the opposite of a democracy. A republic is governed by the people rather than a monarch.
That's a pretty stupid argument ... all of the republicans voted for immunity while about two thirds of the democrats voted against it.
Is the inefficiency a failure of your engine or your fuel ? It seems odd that ethanol is so popular for racing engines if it produces less energy.

This document has information regarding limits on 240 minutes and above : http://www.alpa.org/alpa/DesktopModules/ViewDocument.aspx?DocumentID=4431
On further research it seems the FAA has increased these limits : http://www.faa.gov/other_visit/aviation_industry/airline_operators/airline_safety/info/all_infos/media/2007/info07004.pdf
Other countries may still be working on their own revisions to these rules though.
