    Really, Mr. Rocket scientist, then how come none of the floppies ever set of the virus check on my other computers unless it was bootable? I may have the TYPE of virus wrong, but I made sure it wasnt transmitting itself accidently.

    Some people do have a fucking clue.

    It was on of the aincent init boot viruses. It took up something like 2 k of memory, and tried to put itself on bootable floppies. Seeing as how I never used bootable floppies on that system, and it had 200 meg of memory, it was more amusing to keep it alive than kill it. Alas, it died in the great hard drive purging of '01. Sad.

    Your neighbors asked you to point them somewhere else. They havent taken you to court, they havent threatened to sue. Why wouldn't you? So it will take a little effort on your part. So what. Do you dislike your neighbors that much? We spend so much time on slashdot bitching about stupid laws, but its stuff like this that gets the stupid laws put into place. People arent willing to make what seems like a reasonable concesssion, so next year therel be local law that says you ant leave an unattened camera filming someone elses property that will take years to get rid of, if we can.

    Most of them have lat and long along the edges. You wont get an exact track of your progress down to 20 feet, but you should be able to narrow it down to the nearest block.

    You break the problem down into economic, social, technical, political sorts of categories. SO one group(social) might be focused on what the people need, say they figure out the most pressing need is fresh water. Ok, we need the water, the economic group figures out how much can be afforded, or how to raise the money, the technical group designs the pumps, and the political group talks the local governemnts into allowin this to happen. some of these coud be done concurrently, some might have to go in a particualr order, but this is the easy part.

    It wasnt about slavery for the most part. Lincon was willing let them have slavery if he could preserver the uninon.(I may be wrong about this one) By the way, how do you differentiate between income tax and slavery? You mean youve managed to get out of having them take a large portion of you labor results for their own uses? Obviously its only worng in certain cases.

    THey could probably get the same effect by stimulating the PAIN centers of the brain. Imagine if they were controlling the rats by making them feel like they were dipped in boiling acid if they DIDN'T go in the right direction. They could also do the same thing to a person, either way.

    The addiction was called "wire heading" i think, and basically, its the final rock botom ending of a hard core addictive personality. Basically, the addict would plug himself int a wall jack, and starve because he wouldnt disconnect the connection to get food or water, in extreme cases. Other than that, its a relatively harmless thing, except its nearly unbreakable habit, and youll give up on everything else in life except sitting there, since NOTHING else feels as good.

    DO lcds get the wavy interference from overhead floursecnce and stuff that regular crts get? I've never seen it, but im not sure. Thats th only reaon ive ever changed the refresh rates on my monitors.
