What call are you speaking about? Looking in my trusty MSDN I see that there is a function called SHGetSpecialFolderLocation. You pass CSIDL_PERSONAL in for the second value to get the path for the users My Documents folder.
This is the version requirements for this call so unless you were developing for Win3.1 then wxWindows is doing it wrong in the first place.
Version 4.00 and later of Shell32.dll
Windows NT/2000: Requires Windows NT 4.0 or later.
Windows 95/98/Me: Requires Windows 95 or later.
Header: Declared in Shlobj.h.
Import Library: Shell32.lib.
The funny thing is the WPA people knew all of this would be cracked sometime in the future. So it maybe a security issue but it isn't like they didn't know the door was pickable...they knew it was and that it was only a matter of time before it was picked.
To correct you they aren't saying they are using linux for there DNS servers they are saying they are using FreeBSD. FreeBSD != Linux even though FreeBSD can run most linux software.
They only ruined the net because of the market share that Windows has. If Linux had that market share bugs like that would "ruin" the net also. Think before you post.
And if you don't distribute the software you created or modified how would you make money off of that software? That is the virus type nature of the GPL that Microsoft speaks to.
Wrong. WindowsPE will run off a bootable cd-rom drive and you don't have any places writable except for RAM. WindowsPE is a special version of WindowsXP that manufactors are starting to use in their factories instead of DOS.
Microsoft makes it a policy to write one of these for every patch it makes. So RTFM ok? (sorry couldn't help myself..at least I told you where in the manual to read)
"no more than 13 miles from the sprawling Microsoft campus in Redmond..."
Well god damn...that is like the entire Seattle/Eastside region. Hell you could live in Marysville or North Bend or god sakes Auburn. 13miles is not like you are in Microsoft's backyard. I on the other hand live in the backyard...2 miles to work and back. Guess what? Every here either has AT&T cable modem or one of many ISP via DSL. Hell there is even an ISP local to Redmond (you can find them at dslreports.com..can't recall the URL at the moment).
So before people get all excited guess what? Many of the areas addresses get fucked up. Try spelling out street names to people and city names as there are alot of Native American names used for streets and cities here. Also when the customer service rep repeats the address to you...turn down the stereo first.
Were you under some special signup agreement? What equipment is QWest making you pay for? What is the itemizes list in that $250 for the "switching and new equipement"? Is the new equipment actually there so you can work with the new ISP?
Please provide the facts that you must have on this as what youa re saying has no bases to it.
Microsoft's goal with WindowsXP is of course on the surface to get you to run WindowsXP on all of your systems. Can't deny that as it is an increase in revenue for them. But the major goal was to get people off of Win9x so there is a single plateform people can develope for. Anyhow I am glad you enjoy the faster boot time. There were several optimizations done to make that occur. Took some time to get it right though.
Your last statement makes this post make not sense. You said, "The only thing the author can't do is revoke the rights he granted other under GPL."
So what you are saying is that the author who can do *whatever he wants* can not remove his/her code out from the GPL license once he/she released it under it? So now I can't do whatever I want. The GPL has me handcuffed to it and I can't do anything to remove the handcuffs. That is because when I release something under the GPL I lose all *rights* to that code. I can't say... "We I am removing the GPL license from my code. If you are currently using any of my code you have to remove it and you can also no longer distribute it." You see with other licenses the author still retains control and could come back and say "Nah...I want to change this part of the license".
Lets see.
Verizon Hardline Phone = $25
Verizon Wireles = $50 (free long distance)
ATG DSL (1meg SDSL, no restrictions on use) = $60
Digitial Cable (ALL of the options) = $75
That is $210 a month. Now I am including my cell phone into that bill. Is AOL/TW going to be including cell service into that $230? Nope.
too bad in the future hdtv will be the only broadcast that television stations can do (this is in the us). So why would you pay extra for this when it will be required for them in the future. Only pay extra is it is a true value add service and not a standard.
IIS3 came on the NT4 cd. IIS4 you had to install the Option Pack. Easy install actually. Just be sure to have Service Pack 3 installed first. Then install the Option Pack. Then wham...you have IIS4 with ASP support.
Eh? Like moving the root of the web site? That is REALLY easy via the gui. Open up the configurator. Right click on the site. Go to the home page tab...type in the path...hit ok. There you go..you have just moved the root of the website you selected.
Funny thing. If I got to bed fairly pissed I always wake up at around 5:30 or 6am the next morning. Doesn't matter if I went to bed at 4am or not. I wake up at that time and I am awake ready to go. Well only as ready as someone who drank way too much the night before.
easy. find me a company that can provide a population the size of belgium all of the hardware AND software ready to go. I am willing to bet none of them are OEM's that provide Linux pre-installed.
Use you pick up a copy of WindowsXP Professional. It has this thing called "Remote Desktop" which will let you access your system remotely just like you are at the console. It is pretty fast and works well.
This just sucks. USB is just a way for Intel to sell you a faster processor and by putting a sound card on the USB bus it just sucks more time off your processor to transfer the needed data to the sound device for output. There is a reason for fast parallel buses such as the PCI. It is called low overhead.
Jesus's...I make more money than the average Joe (twice the median around the Seattle area) and I only pay $1500 a month for my apartment. Now that I am buying a house it is going up to $2400 but like I said...I am not the average Joe. I pay $60 a month for my current DSL with 1meg up and 1meg down and no TOA that restricts ANYTHING I do with my DSL. When I move into my house I will be going cable as I don't want to pay for the DSL at the moment. Fortunally for me I don't give a shit about hosting a web site or an ftp server or whatever server.

Yes here in Washington for Verizon I used to get the numbers I called and when with my local phone bill.
Kinda like "The Big Hit's" "Buster Buster Buster"?

Go to the properties of the external network card and select the Sharing tab (a tab with a name like that). Click the box "Share" and your done.

There are API's on the Windows's plateform for all of this. You can even all these aPI's from Perl if you want to. Get a clue before you complain.
Then read the KB article that is associated with the patch. There is your documentation as what the patch is doing. Here is the link for you....

your so FUCKING stupid. you pay for a product. a snapshot in time. not for continual fixups and shit. so SHUT THE FUCK UP!
