Well, the arcade is the arcade. It's not like you can go over to your friends house and play a realtime, realboard, real water surfing simulator. There's a new generation of arcade games coming out and they all run between $40 and $70k for the machines. You won't see that on your Gameboy.

I use my SL-5500 to watch DivX movies on longish flights (SF to Seattle) and one battery lasts 2-3 hours at full use. (I carry an extra battery, $38) I also carry a battery extender (4 AA NIMH in a charger/power pack) for extended Nethack sessions. (9-10 hours at full use, same internal battery) When using WiFi, I can get 3 hours of SSH out of a stock battery. Everyone's idea of usability varies. Getting the task done is what counts. The flexibility of the Zaurus puts it head and shoulders above the rest of the crowd.

So it must be time to stop spending money on science and technology and start spending it on welfare and foodbanks. After all, what good has ever come out of things like 4 Billion Dollar particle accelerators and expensive space operations? We need more programs for the poor. All that money wasted on things no one cares about. All we want is bigger and badder missiles to wipe out people who we disagree with and more bread and entertainment. Is that so wrong? If we didn't waste our time trying to advance civilization, we could get on with the important work of regressing back to the primordial ooze.
