They don't seem to be able to comprehend that a customer may already own Windows or wish to install an alternative OS.
No, I think they do comprehend. That is why they throw their weight around. Nasty technique to keep their dominance, in my own opinion. I have to ask the question though, at what point is OSS so usable that you are just plain dumb to not use it. Kind of how I cannot feel to much sympathy for some one who dies when they pee on a live, exposed, electric wire. Should we make a 'Darwin Awards' for people who waste their money on this MS crap?
The other big question is whether people will start using the Google spinoff services or not. I'm not sure that many people will get beyond the initial main Google search page.
That is why I love to tell people about news.google.com. The best collective news source on the net.
My post is in response to someone who was trying to say that the US was going to rule Iraq when this is over. In much of the same way that Hitler would have ruled France, had he won. As as far as saying that we have already formed a government to run Iraq after the war, that is plain wrong. Otherwise the BBC is just making things up http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/292330 1.stm. I heard this same info in CNN, but I know how everyone loves to call them a slanted news source.
And just who is trying to conquer the world with military might? I really hope you are not trying to imply that the USA is. Because that would just show how little you know of what is going on in Iraq.
Not to post in favor of MS here, but I have to ask: if this application needs to be recertified to run on a different OS, wouldn't it need to be recertified to run on a different service pack? I have been through many SP upgrades on my hom pc that have tanked the system. Sometimes the upgrade in the service pack is more troublesome than a new OS. At least with the new OS you are forced to perform a clean installation of the software.
Obviously, there will be no post-production editing or enhancing, so you're basically just buying a fancy bootleg, not a CD you'd buy from a store of a live performance. But it shouldn't suck too bad, and it'd sure beat holding up a mini-recorder in the crowd.
That statement is very true. In my opinion that should also mean these CDs should cost no more than $8 or $9. At that price, I would skip on my last beer and have enough money to get one;)
That would suck to explain to the boss. I didn't see the hacker because I was in the bathroom!
On a side note, maybe now my roomate will stop suggesting that we go wireless. I think the stuff sucks mostly because of needing to by batteries for something as basic as a keyboard seems really off the wall to me.
Was it just me or was half that article about AOL and their policies on email. Unless I am mistaken somehow they are not named in the suit. So what exactly are they doing in the article.
Either way, why didn't she just call that contact if she hadn't heard from them in a while? Kinda sounds like she is the one that screwed up.
I think he meant the radio controled planes that the air force uses. You know, the ones that are always on the discovery channel. I am not sure the technology on those is developed enough to land on a carrier. But this is just a theory.
I only wish I knew that guy lived in Bowling Green while I still went to the university there. Although, maybe I can get a band of fellow nerds to join me in a beating^H^H^H^H^H^H^H delivery of baked goods.
This is the honest truth!!! While on my way to OSU to see my girlfriend (ok, that probably sounds unbelievable on slashdot, but I swear I have one) I found myself driving behind some guys in a really old and beat up Buick watching porn on a small flat panel TV. I think the flat panel was worht more than the car actually. It seams that porn is already available in your car.
Now, as for slashdot in the car... better be careful, you wouldn't want to get pulled over for some kind of public indecency law.
Now I think you are on to something good there. Of course, before you put your effort into such a technique, are there laws in place that prevent a site from having information collected on a page that is in a public scope. Since search engines are able to crawl the web I would assume that the spammer might find some protection there.
What?!?!?!!? You try to say that a project with a tight budget cannot afford $499 for a compiler but it can afford to pay employees to sit and wait for code to compile? This makes no sense at all. You can use the same compiler for several projects after buying it once, but for each project you are paying your employees to write code. To me giving an employee a relatively cheap way to improve productivity is the best way to help a low budget project.

And the answer to that is so easy... a lawyer needed to justify being on the payroll.

Nope, I just downloaded it today for Win32 using the full installer and it was *checking right now* 11.1 MB. I am not sure where you got 38.3 MB from.
While I hate my job at CompUSA, I will not stand for being called a dweeb! I am a full fledged nerd damnit!!!

Uhhhhh. I have never had my Borland IDE crash on me once. But I guess my standards of reliable are low or something.

But there no better movie for nerds.
Maybe this version will come out on DVD? Now that would be very cool.
I think this is a better bet. She will only get a few miles on a charge, but she sure is fast. http://www.bgsu.edu/colleges/technology/EVI
Just for the record, I have every Weezer CD too. Even that crappy Pinkerton one.
But Pinkerton was the only good Weezer album!
