    Well the burned man concept pic does provide evidence that Anakin becomes Vadar because of severe buring. It has been hinted through novelizations and Lucus' early script drafts that Anakin fell into a pool of lava fighting Obi-Wan and was horribly burned. The other theory from early drafts was that Anakin fell into a nuclear core and was subjected to massive amounts of radiation. This pic certainly offers evidence that burns (and not radiation) are what made Anakin don the mask.

    In you already didn't know, there are a lot of scenarios regarding rebuilting cities (and New York in particular.)

    * Rebuilt New York as a maximun security prision and plot out a flight path for Air Force One right over the city.

    * Rebuilt New York a mile away. Motocycle gangs will battle each other, gray skinned wrinkly children will roam the streets, and a teenage boy with a red cape and a "Da Da Da" theme will wreak havoc.

    * Dinosaurs. 'nuff said.

    * In case of flood: Lease out above water skyscrappers to robotics manufacturers.

    * In case of attack by phantasmal alien beings: Erect a "Barrier City" and make everyone look like a Doom III screenshot.

    * In case of attack by 200' tall lizard or ape: Air force to the rescue, barbecue for the civilians.

    As you can see, you can rest easy knowing that every possible scenario regarding NYC has already been covered.

    Warning: NYC rebuilding scenarios may require several poor thought out and executed "sequel" scenarios should the first scenario be received well by the population.

    When you read the headline "One billion PCs sold", the first instinct is to think about one billion people who have PCs spread over the world. This is not the case. First off, although I don't know how many people bought PCs to contribute to that number, I doubt it was anywhere close to 1 billion. More likely is the explanation that large corporations bought large volumes of PCs for their offices/plants/etc. Secondly, the distribution of those PCs are not even. For many of the poor in third world countries, they have yet to see or use a PC let alone own one.

    Although it is great that technology is reaching the masses, the 1 billion milestone is not a cause for celebration yet.

  21. The series finale was pretty good. on The Truth Revealed · · Score: 5, Insightful

    Considering how stale the last two season had become, I was worried that the finale would have been half assed just to finish off what was once one of the greatest dramas airing of TV.

    The first hour of the finale IMO was the weakest part. I was worried when Skinner was pulling past characters as witnesses for Mulder's trial that Carter did a lame character reunion finale. Thankfully, the show picked up in the latter half.

    I did have some problems with the finale, however:

    1. The reason behind Kurst's sudden aid was never explained. His sudden character reversal was unsettling to me.

    2. I think they overdid the Smoking Man's demise. Sure, Carter probably had that shot of his face peeling away to the skull to appease all the fanboys who would claim he escaped death again. But the fanboys would say that anyway if Mulder shot him several times in the face then relieved himself on his dead body.

    The ending seem to fit the feel of the show. The protagionists now know the truth, but a little bit more of the picture remains out there. I can definately see a movie revolving around the alien invasion comming from this finale.
