Actually... Ulysses never said that the were giants. In teh original translation, it is "Tall Men", not giants (there was a different word that would have been used for giants)
a bit off-topic perhaps, but I think that is important because size and manuverability are very important when considering buildign a robot that will be used in combat situations.
This sort of implementation of program notes was trying in my high school for a play where we were being judged... we collected 12 PDAs and created program notes using AvantGo as the method of presenting the data. It worked well, but the judges didn't use it till afterwards, they didn't like having to "interact" with the program notes to see the information in the middle of a performance.
What worked better the next year was a Kiosk-style computers setup at a booth where we created a website that had infinitely more data than a program notes could hold.. including extended bio's, video's of selected scenes from that same night (we had a killer fast rig for video editing and we took in certain scenes via firewire and compressed them lightly (because the site was on a local server) and then quickly threw them onto the site.) THAT was the best feature that the judges really appreciated. They loved the ability to review scenes of the play they had just watched.
That was a USEFUL blending of technology with an ancient artform. As a result of that, the judges were able to better write an accurate review and they typically only wrote about the scenes that we video-taped for them.:) It was an exercise in marketing and "suggesting" what people remember about the plays!!

It's this screwing down that gives it its intense stiffness, which makes it a DREAM to type on compared to any other laptop I've used.
I own a IBM A31 and it's got a damned nice keyboard as well... The feel is wonderfully precise with great response and with a very stiff back that doesn't allowthe keyboard base to flex like other laptops... cough compaq cough and its not as frustratingly compacted as other laptop keyboards, including the new Apple laptops. But, with a body at 13in in width, it's not for everybody.

I am also shocked to see that you replied to my post.
However, I am interested in what facts you have to back up your statement:
"Still, your post is misinformed nonsense, but you can't help believing what your press says."
I also will carry the burden of proof if you should decide to challenge me on any of my facts.
Sincerely,
David

Unlike the reast of you, I will post with my own name and not argue anonymously. First of all, I am a proud United States Citizen who is currently working his way through college.
If you look at the United State's military budget, you would see that it is larger than most(if not all) of the world's military budget combined.
Do you think that Russia, any European country (and I will be nice and not pick on France), China or India could possibly deploy the same volume of troops and equipment in the same time span as the US?
If you are a student of Network Centric Warfare, then you would know that only the US of A has the current capability to land a certain number troops in any spot in the world in under 96 hours.
Should I even mention what country has developed the most advanced weapondry the world has ever seen? Russia may have some great engineers but they lack the capability to actually produce working and reliable weapondry. They have great ideas, but their implementation sucks. The Chinese and Indian's just copy whatever we develop.
Do you really think that Europe would throw in with the Chinese, Russians, and Indian's if Great Britain stayed out of it or even threw in with the US?
I think not!
Not to mention that the Russians and Chinese hate each other completely and the chinese and indian's aren't on the most friendly of terms either!
So... yes, I do believe that in a non-nuclear fight, we would beat Europe, China, Russia, and India.
Why don't they offer a large cash prize for the best implementation plan? Or set up a community site and take the time to collect what people want? Heck, they should set up a community site anyway and start hauling in the data. Does that make sense to anyone else?
Not to mention that Clearcom does have a wireless bases station with wireless beltpacks available.
Hey BenFranske Thanks for the ControlBooth.com links!!
