Blarg, last time I used it, it was horribly slow, and that was just a couple months ago. So unless they went through some amazing code changes that sped it up like crazy, I don't see it as being able to survive as competition. Maybe as an alternative for those who just hate itunes, but not competition.
Once upon a time, there was a company known as Be, with an operating system known as BeOS. It was nice. The open source successor, Haiku OS, is coming along. It's nearing the first official release. Might check it out, if you're interested.
I see with all of this... Corporations are always searching to lower/limit their expenses. What happens if all jobs are delegated to humanoid robots? Basically, since no one would be working, no one would be raising any capital, so who could purchase any products or services that these robots are working to provide?
The sad thing is, there are so many people out there who, including me, follow every first bit of news about something, and say "oh yeah, I could've said that", only to turn right around and follow the latest rebuttal. I don't think many people do it on purpose...
I wish people WOULD make up their own minds. Lots of people tend to not even have their own opinion on many a subject. Lets take my brother for example, he follows the indie crowd (well, I do too, but not as seriously), and there is this ideology that he follows, because it is pertinent to that group. But when I ask him for a reason or explanation for different ideas of that group, he is unable to explain this. No insult intended, I was just pointing out what I noticed, but it most likely is a tainted view.
Slashdotters (most of 'em, some have their ideas straight) should make up their mind. Intellectual Proberty SUCKS!! Intellectual Property R001z0rz!! Intellectual Property SUCKS!! HAHA, the joke's on you, it r001z0rz again!! Ugh
Had to find this out on my own a while ago. I though my motherboard was bad... now it's in pieces, the largest being in a dump somewhere. Whodathunkit? We didn't get a review of this problem before it came out. I'm so disappointed...
Actually, this would be kindof cool. I bet that a data purge receptacle would become commonplace. Maybe in public restrooms, along with the other "purge" stalls. Just touch it like you would a touch-lamp, and all remnant data would be cleaned from the body.
well, it's turning into a problem now. I work for a clearinghouse, and the latest version of our billing software requires that the users be on at least windows 98. Needless to say, lots of them are opting for windows 2k. oop
How about just quit purchasing your albums from the large record companies? There are so many bands, labels and studios out there that are against (or are ignoring) this large record companies battle. Try independent music. I was introduced to it a few years ago by friends and my younger brother. There's music from any genre there for you to listen to. Try out www.epitonic.com. They have so many great bands listed. I keep on thinking that I've come across all of the indie bands that I enjoy listening to, but at least once a week another band surfaces.
hmm. it may not autoload, but I doubt that it's copy-protected. Try running it through winamp, (play/audio cd). The same thing happened to me on the Our Lady Peace - Spiritual Machines album.
cheese, learn the metric system
200 C = above boiling point
-255 C = below 0 C freezing point
So, this means that the earlier bucky ball would become non-magnetic above the minus 255 (really cold) point, and that the new bucky ball stays magnetic all the way up to the 200 (quite hot)point.

I just got rid of my landline. Now, if they start calling my cell phone, that's a problem.
