There already is a mechanism in place to combat Apple's use of a proprietary format in iTMS. What you have to do is when you feel the urge to click the Buy Now button, don't do it. Proprietary control has been they way Apple has gone with almost all of their products and people still buy them. These people may be limiting themselves but it is by their choice, tech savvy or not.
At some point consumers have to educate themselves about what they are buying. We now live in the most fine-printed, asterisked and cautionary warning-ed time ever, the truth IS out there. If I buy a Chevy, I cannot bring a case against them if I cannot use Ford spark plugs in my vehicle.
If I want flexibility I will shop for it. If enough people choose MP3s over M4ps and spend their money accordingly Apple will have to adapt or fail. Right now they are betting people won't mind the limitations and so far they've been right.
Yes, "Year-End Summary" could have been used but by using the word "zeitgeist" they are further modifying the summary. Not only are they giving you the top searches for the year, but also a peek (and a scary one at that) into our current culture.
And why not? If you get the point across to your coworkers, why should you waste an extra 20 seconds checking your grammar? Sure, its only 20 seconds, but the only point in editing your message is to conform to implied social norms - an objective that has nothing to do with getting the job done. Thankfully those silly social norms have not yet been applied to emails yet.
You mean social norms like wearing clothes to work?
It should not take 20 seconds to edit your message if you know how to use grammar correctly and how to spell. If practiced on a regular basis, these skills should be second nature.
Everyone makes mistakes with grammar and spelling on occasion, however it is the attitude that it really doesn't matter that is troubling.
It probably has to do with all those classes outside of English where everyone whined about if spelling counted. It should've counted but usually didn't.
Also consider that the 95% is from a completely different survey. The article makes it seem like the drop was from 95% to 57% on enGadget. That being said, I've been using Firefox for about a year now and think it's great and recommend using rather than IE.
Not to mention completely ingoring the 46% of 18-24 year-olds who bought the same amount of music or the 58% of 25-34 year-olds who bought the same as well. Taken in addition to those who bought more, how can they say it is having a negative impact with a straight face?
Balony. I guarantee you that if you listen to a radio drama, the pictures going on inside your head will be far better than anything anybody would shoot And if you bogart some of those Percosets from Rush, the pictures look that much better.

Just what we need, dead people clogging up the mailing lists.
Also, at work, a high velocity bolt hit me in the "glasses", the oakleys came away with a small scratch.
Neat,
Fashionable eye-wear and crossbow factory safety all in one!

No, you're thinking of Warsaw Pact Man.
So far.
You can listen to it pronounced in Dutch here.

Not to mention who asked the paralegal to do the research in the first place. I'm sure they did not decide to look into this matter on a whim.

Rouge nations such as Red China?
All four of these were released previously as "The Tolkein Reader"
