Speaking from experience only (medic 10 years), I can count on one hand how many people presented to me on scene with obvious neuro and motor deficits. Alot of the time, it is many minutes/hours later that deficits are noticed by the ER staff. This is usually due to the swelling crushing nerves descending down the spine. We have steroids to counter those affects. Also the mechanism of injury to cause such trauma is usually sufficent enough to cause more critical and life threatening injurys. Those injuries would be addressed first of course.
Doom3 had zero replayabilty, but I am not sure abou HL2 either. Come to think of it, I don't think I played HL that much! It was all the mods that came with it that kept the community alive! So I spent some bucks this month on HL2 and WOW.
I work at a Level 1 ER in St. Louis as a paramedic, were we work side by side with the RN's. Honestly, if we only had to treat the life threatening illness we would only need 3 or four 4 rooms and not 32. That is right, most of what we see should be treated by their personal doctor and not by us. I could go on and on about the abuse of system. But there is no cure for the problem. If your a medicaid patient, or no insurance you will wait at least a month to get seen at a clinic. So people stall as long as possible, but often fill up waiting rooms. Now you do get the same treatment as anyone else, but we are sure to ask you if wish to further treatment and test. CT scan alone will run you over 2g, VQ scan will run you over 5g. Alot of those test are unneseccary for a diagnose, but are need to cover the doctors butt. Hnce unneeded expense, but our society is sue happy.
That is why computers are my hobby. I know not many people have that option, but I am a paramedic by trade. When people stop kicking the bucket, I will then be laid off! But you know what.... I am still barely above the poverty level. I love me work, and this is where I belong! I am done with my rant......

"This doesn't mean we don't need stem cell research, but it is a simple and potentially cheap way to get many of the benefits for spinal injury."
What exactly are the benifits of a spinal injury? A
