please let this drop diamond prices down to what they should be
What do you need diamonds for? Industrial purposes? The whole consumer market, both supply and demand, is an invention. They managed to convince people that they wanted them, then they constrained the supply, then they invented a pricing scheme (two months salary (or whatever it is)) that creates the seller's dream of a perfectly tiered market.
For me a 4S was the first iPhone I've owned. And I'll be getting an unlocked 5 as soon as I can get ahold of one. One thing about liking Apple's products, it also tends to make a person think the stock is a good investment. I've made more money on it in the last few months then I will ever spend in my lifetime on Apple products.
Sure, but a year from now Apple will have sold about 200 Million of 'em. Maybe even a quarter billion. I'd be happy to revisit this post a year from now. If I'm wrong i'll acknowledge it. This is going to be Apple's biggest breakout. In another generation or two, even low cost phones will be good enough. But right now this phone is so good, and the markets are ripening, that the demand will be staggering. They will sell them as fast as they can make them for a long long time.
The Samsung Galaxy S 3 costs as much as an iPhone 5. Premium phones have premium prices. But *most* of the phones Samsung sells are not premium phones.
The hateboi mantra of "overpriced" seems like a pretty weak way to argue against something. Nice things cost money, and usually in a non-linear way. That's how the world is.
I don't use a case and my 4S is in perfect condition. And the 5 has a metal case, so "fragile" seems an even more inapt description, no matter what your "girlfirends mom" does.
It will eventually settle down to that. This happens over and over again any time there's a new frontier. The telephone, railroads, electricity, sewing machines, automobiles, revolvers, farm equipment, etc.
It starts with patent battles that at first seem reasonable that become more and more absurd over time. Once it begins it gathers its own momentum until there's no good way to stop it.
Just to be clear, my offer is serious, but obviously you have to decide quickly. So let me set an expiration: Monday 8AM Eastern time (7 hours from now), or of course if any significant news comes out before then.
I win if Judge Koh has not thrown out the verdict by September 10th.
I am not taking a position on any appeals. This applies only to the sitting judge discarding the verdict. Minor adjustments that let the body of the verdict stand do not qualify.
Whoever during the term of a patent for a design, without license of the owner, (1) applies the patented design, or any colorable imitation thereof, to any article of manufacture for the purpose of sale, or (2) sells or exposes for sale any article of manufacture to which such design or colorable imitation has been applied shall be liable to the owner to the extent of his total profit, but not less than $250, recoverable in any United States district court having jurisdiction of the parties.
You're a lawyer and you think there was jury tampering here? Come on. You're either not really a lawyer or you recently got hit in the head. Jury tampering is a criminal act. Who is the culprit? How was it done? Do tell.
If so then 1 billion is less than ten bucks per phone, possibly way less.
On most of the phones Samsung sells they make ten bucks or less. Like for instance the Galaxy Mini, an Android "Smart" phone that sells for less than $150 retail, no contract. (The phone is a total piece of crap, by the way. No way anyone is using it for much more than photos and phone calls.)
Yes, it's really stupid to think that no response means nothing's going to happen. Sure. That's some fine interface work there, Lou.
I suppose you think a good way to solve it would be like those web "designers" who don't know what else to do but put up a message saying "do not click Submit more than once!"
Apple didn't kill HTC, Samsung did. They flooded the market with so many models that there was no place or need for carriers to also push HTC devices. It's not like Android devices aren't selling well. HTC doesn't have the manufacturing capacity that Samsung does, and Samsung buried them because of it.
If those sites just wanted Google to stop indexind their pages, a robots.txt would be enough.
They don't want them to stop, they want them to pay.
This will never pass, of course. Google and others would simply stop indexing them, making them nearly invisible. Who wants that?
Do you really believe that only criminals get arrested and/or persecuted by the government? You think that as long as you "don't steal things" you have nothing to worry about?
First of all, nothing evolves into anything. A species may evolve from another. That does not require that the first species cease to exist. A quite reasonable explanation of the fact of evolution is the theory of natural selection.

Those were to carriers, not users of the phones. It took those carriers a long time to actually sell through them. Apple counts only genuine sales.
Apple easily sold more 4S's than Samsung sold GS3's. And Apple will surely sell several times as many 5's as Samsung sells GS3's.

Saint Google is now taking a page out of Microsoft's playbook.
It can.
On a horse with no name?

35 U.S.C. 289 Additional remedy for infringement of design patent

I don't know about him, but I've subscribed to the RSS feed.

Do you mean that you think the judge from this case is going to throw out the verdict? Seriously? I'll take that bet. $100. We'll settle by Paypal.

What others things have not happened yet?

Apparently when it's stolen in Minnesota.

Venus was Steve Jobs' planet, so it never had plates.
