So in this scenario, are they then combining the two types of mass to account for 100%? The type of mass that accounts for 95% of the particle is the energy given off from gluons and quarks, which is a relativistic mass since movements and interactions don't have intrinsic mass? But the intrinsic mass of quarks makes up 5%?
Or is saying that 95% of its mass "comes from the energy from the movements and interactions of quarks and gluons" just another way of saying there's other stuff in there that must have mass, we just haven't identified them yet? Aren't they confusing various definitions of mass to explain the total mass which they think should be there?
"Often you hear warnings about not going to untrusted sites," said Craig Schmugar, threat researcher at McAfee Avert Labs... That is good advice, but it is not enough. Even sites you know and trust can become compromised."
In the old days it was easy to avoid malicious sites. Now even your neighbor could be the terrorist... err..I mean.. even sites you know and trust can become compromised.
At least this threat researcher offered a calm analysis with plenty of advice about how to avoid such attacks without recoiling from the web in fear.
For a device that serves a life-or-death function for many individuals, some of these headlines about Medtronic Inc. are not the most heart-warming. Especially this recall of defective heart parts.
This of course adds more light to the question posted earlier today about advertising on Wiki.
Regardless of whether or not the allegations are true, the problem in general is how to maintain the integrity of such a community-centered project in light of funding needs and greedy hands. Unfortunately the answer seems to be that anytime money-making concerns creep into the picture democratic, community-oriented organizations are threatened.
How can this fundamental rub be resolved? Organizations such as Wiki strive to put informational democracy over money, but is that even possible? What sort of oversight could be put in place to keep a project like Wiki from being steered off the cliff by overly self-interested editors? I don't know if this sort of abuse can be prevented.
Sick... of... hearing... about... napster... and... mp3's. It's every other article now.
Politicians and federal courts, who do not understand the internet, should not be making laws for the internet. Until that stops, theres not much to do.:/
Personally, I'd just prefer an old-fashioned box over one of those fancy thangs, although the new blue and white G3's look awesome. Having those jumpsuit guys in every picture sure doesn't help my interest. Something about them makes me want to explode.
I wasn't implying that CodeWarrior is unstable. In fact I used to use CodeWarrior on my Mac also. It was very easy to use.
I have a feeling though that CodeWarrior being ported to Linux, I mean RedHat, won't be such a smooth transition. Maybe it will, who knows. Looking at netscape for linux: I rarely use it when I have netscape on a Mac or Windows box around.
I agree that many things RedHat has done are just what we wanted. RedHat has helped Linux become more mainstream. RedHat is the distro that gets most of the attention in the media--this is good.
But at the same time, does RedHat have to abandon standards and make itself incompatible with the rest of the Linux community? Its annoying!:)
First of all, who needs CodeWarrior when every Linux distro comes with compilers, debuggers, and most every other development tool needed? I have a feeling an DE like CodeWarrior will end up bringing more pain than usefullness to developers who were doing just fine with the 'old-skewl' tools.
Second, don't u think RedHat is doing a disservice to the Linux community by increasingly separating itself from the project as a whole? Leading people to believe that RedHat is the maker of Linux only hurts us. Its caused me to hate using RedHat because of the incompatibility issues that come up in development.
But what if Company Y files for a 430? Then will Company A and B have the same profit margin as a monopolized Company X? Or will both Company A and B have revenues equal to that of Company Y's tax returns? Who knows...

Ok, then he should be consistent:
"It may be the largest consumer-market
computer program ever written, with 30 million lines of code"
should be:
"It may be the largest consumer-market computer program ever written, with 30 million lines of so-called 'code'."
Hehe, I just think if one doesn't know what code is he/she shouldn't be reading that article--it will mean nothing.
Ok, so Linux has more programmers working with it. But does it have 30 million lines of code? Hah!
"Linux is also a favorite among techies because its so-called source code is open to anyone and everyone"
So-called? wtf?!
Excuse me, Alf was one of my favorite shows!
And I think that anyone else out there who is being honest would admit that too..
I'm just happy for Ken Williams. Having all that data and work destroyed would not have been cool.
I hope Harvard follows through and gives it back..
It might sound crazy, but shouldn't the Patron Saint of the Internet be the man who invented the Internet--Torvalds, Linus Torvalds?
Woohoo! I pre-ordered R5 a few months ago. My PPC box needs some serious updating.
I think a common theme throughout the comments so far is that the BunnyPeople[tm?] really piss us off.
No! Of course they aren't. They're just....bunny people. You know how it is with bunnypeople.
Personally, I'd just prefer an old-fashioned box over one of those fancy thangs, although the new blue and white G3's look awesome. Having those jumpsuit guys in every picture sure doesn't help my interest. Something about them makes me want to explode.
Not so fast! Don't you think we should keep the paper clip help wizard that we've come to love in so many MS products?

I think your worrying to much about this. Everything will be ok

Uh huh
Pay by the minute internet access?
Charging a person for the exchange of ideas, information, and creativity?
Bah! The next thing you know, we'll be passing laws to limit the use of encryption and giving governments access to view emails. That'l be the day...
If one is concerned with the future of Linux and competing OS's, this article should be of interest.
