They'll attack the right target perhaps 1 out of 20 events. They'll attack someone at random every so often and then say 'whoops! We screwed up! Sorry!'.
Meantime if you're the one that accidentally gets attacked and they'll tie your ass up in litigation so long that SCO vs IBM will finally be resolved.
I thought the same about Dell until they recently ditched their docking stations for a USB3 dock. Now it's a driver cluster fuck with the new Latitude E5480's.
The thing that Dell had going for years was their docking stations worked with minimal problems. They might be proprietary connections but they've been consistently solid for years.
At least they haven't changed their AC adapters... yet.
How is this news? EVERY major iOS update has had this same damn problem with battery life sucking on any older devices.
Now iOS users get to sit back and wait 6 months for Apple fix (errr... make less bad?) this problem while being badgered into buying a new phone to circumvent this preventable problem.
Linkedin says the company has 113 employees listed. If they really are that size (they were described as a "startup") then it's very realistic their security is that informal/lax.
As the article stated, the CEO (Straface) was the last one out of the building which implies it's late (7pm? 8pm?). Regardless, if you're in an office to meet with someone and you notice that no one else is around after 2.5 hours, that's usually a sign that your meeting has been canceled!
You don't talk on your iPhone silly. You talk into your Apple Watch!
Actually... that would spiffy if there were a show where a person talked to their watch to communicate. Apple should patent that because no one EVER would have thought of that!!!
My girlfriend is 42 and was raised with cable TV and she never knew about using an antenna until she met me. The commercials suck but that's what the mute button is for.
The only down side I've found is that if you have spotty reception, it's choppy (kind of like buffering). Whereas pre-DTV spotty reception was static but tolerable.
Agreed. Paint was never a GOOD program but it's what's installed by default and it works. I'm not going to install something like Greenshot on a server i'm working on but sometimes you need a no frills tool.
Look at the history of projects that Google has started and killed off when they don't meet expectations. I can't say i'm shocked that Fiber stalled and appears to be dieing. Current Fiber customers should be nervous because if/when Google decides to kill this project i have the utmost confidence in Google to shaft these people.
Did Google leadership really expect Fiber to succeed? Or did the most recent CEO step down because he realized that Fiber (like almost every other product) is "beta" and they'll kill it on a whim when they decide to go in yet another direction?

Thank you for the ShadowRun reference!
Also, if you hire a chimp with a gun and the chimp shoots someone...
Not sure if that's the right word for this.
Maliciously = with intent to do harm
Intentionally? Yes.
Or maybe they finally moved out of their parents basements! :)

There is currently a T-Mobile promotion that pays for Netflix for their members. I wonder how many of those 5 million are coming from that.
I wish i had mod points for this. +1
Best Buy pulled Kaspersky on 9/8, then 8 days (1 week + 1 day) later Office Depot announced the same.
I know /. is slow in posting stuff but why is this even posted on 10/9?
Another tool I use to break in to things discovered. sigh Only 999,999,999 left.
"I got 999,999,999 problems but a printer ain't one of them!"
Every time i see the word 'drop' in this context, I have flashbacks to "All your base are belong to us".
Ex: "Apple set us up the MacOS Hgh Sierra"

Now if we could just get him to apologize for Windows 98, ME, and 10...
Yet another satisfied customer of Win8 I see! :)

Except that the alternative link was also paywalled which is why a lot of people are grumbling (this time).

Ditto on the analog signal. I can handle a little static (AM radio for sports games) but the stutter can be maddening.

This is one way to get more users.
In all seriousness, does anyone even remember which email address they used for their Myspace account?
Don't forget the fact that the car will get shitty mileage and the battery will be drained in 2 years after they ram down OS "updates".
It's THE documentary that all documentaries are measured against in the US.
"Apple said, adding that the HomePod does all of this with a customer's privacy in mind."
Bullshit.
Isn't that how many times Windows XP restarted while you're installing it?
