    Yeah, I thought about that method, but would rather that all guns in the house were reported to me until she's old enough to take a proper use/safety course.

    Especially I've made my mind up after having the Ruger LCR around. It's lighter than many toy guns out there...

    I have daughter a bit younger than the girl in question. I also happen to own several firearms which spend the vast majority of their time locked up in a safe.

    I do not have ANY toy guns in the house. Period. Precisely for this reason. That includes my Wii for which I would find shooting games fun.

    This is a mistake preventable on a number of levels. Loaded firearms should either be on your person or locked up, never anywhere in between. And, no gun is a toy until a child is able to understand the difference between the two.

    I happen to have an iPod touch. It's a great MP3 player.

    Wrong. The software on the phone is licensed, not owned, by the "buyer." Things like the DMCA give those licenses sharper teeth as it is entirely possible for Apple to claim that jailbreaking is circumvention of an access control (whether or not copyright infringement actually occurs) and have criminal charges filed against you.

    Sorry, but you are wrong. Time shifting merely implies that you can record the show and watch it at a more convenient time, not necessarily with the ability to overlap. The phrase "time shifting" was originally coined during the Sony vs Universal case in the late 1970s after the BetaMax VCR was introduced.

    A simple Google search would have educated you.

    Really, so for the two shows that were on at the same time, you couldn't record one show on the VCR and watch the other one on the TV?

    Also, the first widely available dual-deck VCR was introduced in 1989. It could do things like, you know, record two shows at the same time and record one show while playing another from the other tape.

    In addition, the fuels are not being combusted.

    What difference does that make? Combustion of fuel = heat + CO2 + NOx. Catalytic conversion of fuel = heat + CO2 + NOx only slightly more efficiently.

    So do you own one? Why not?

    Here's a small tip: The only hindrance to electric cars is the battery. You don't need electric cars to fund R&D for batteries, plenty of other industries also use them and are interested in higher energy density and faster charging rates.
