dammit, I was going to do something similar, but with vibrating motors on each of your temples and call it hammerhea...damn
I suppose the only thing left is to add blackjack and hookers... without the stupid navigation thing.
4 years before that I often dealt with the Chatham islanders who could only get 9600bps via satellite/dialup how does that link compare? I would bet Antarctica was/is far better with all the sciency stuff happening down there. actually quite interested to hear what the Chathams link is like these days if any/.er's know
I've wondered about the cisco certifications, did MCSE instructor led courses for the first couple of modules of win2kserver but really quickly realised only a small part of that would be useful in the future. are the Cisco certs better in this regard? ie, are the skillsets still relevant/translatable after 5 years?
I'd just like to take this opportunity to point out that Teamviewer does not have an ARMv6 port... it wont run on your raspberry pi so I wouldn't consider that 'truly cross platform' or 'works on linux flawlessly'
I've always wondered if these callers actually know they've been hired to scam people or if they legitimately think they're working for Micro$oft. also had calls from Dell...confirmed Dell don't make unsolicited calls. this guy was trying to claim he was our new Dell sales manager...haha we don't even buy new pc's, -1 points for technique.
agreed, once had the micro$oft fairies raid our warehouse, apparently they shipped us more OEM win98 packages than we had paid for... they came in without warning and walked around the entire building with the CEO picking up any unopened copies sitting around... including the one on my workbench which belonged to a customer. that was when I really began to hate them. up until then I was just hating to be cool.
you're probably right but I really thought all computer/laptop PSU's had short protection (at least from the 8088 days) which seems strange that others are able to smoke up a wire in their pc's - I've got some of the oldest shittiest pc's and PSU's around. I should point out that when I was doing repairs for PCDirect we had one customer's pc that managed to set it's RAM on fire while open on the workbench and at another repair shop one customer had cut the AC power cable to poke though a small hole in the desk and reconnected it wrong, blew the top of a chip on the motherboard. that is the closest I've seen to what people are reporting here in approx 20yrs on the job. I can just imagine the chaos that would ensue from a 100w usb port if it failed to negotiate the power requirements correctly.
ok, screw that for a joke, I'll just make one from a real dino bone. and claim the ability to fire a bullet as an unintended consequence of long term erosion. I'm pretty sure there are at least three laws covering shooting someone with a homemade weapon but as you state that wont stop them from trying to outlaw everything from another 3 different angles.
interesting thought although it's a bit warm where I live to leave a heater going... I only used heating for one evening during our last winter. he does like sitting under lamps but tends to choose the ones with fluro bulbs which don't produce much heat so I see what you're saying about 'it's gotta glow'
maybe I'll just try some cat heroin. that sounds much easier.
red bull cans, junk circuit boards, random projects, DMM, soldering iron, 100+ recycled or repaired tools. I would really like a scope to be able to take things a few steps further. I'll take yours if it's no use to you anymore.
Mine has a constant supply of food, only gets something extra at dinner time but still insists on waking me up as soon as the sun rises. I think he just likes the attention.
with the state of the NZ military, I'm surprised it's not just one of those plastic toys you launch by pulling a zip cord, in fact I'm sure our military's rifles are just pellet guns with a plastic body kit.
you can do your own googling but as far as I'm aware the FCC would be very unhappy about any type of unlicensed transmitter that interferes with FCC certified stuff like R/C toys.
I cant say I've seen a computer that outputs enough A@5v to melt a wire. I had a webcam with a solder blob which shorted 5v to gnd, it would just cause all of my computers to restart when plugged in, until I located the renegade blob and removed it.
Typically you blow in a device first so they're testing for Breath alcohol, you don't get to bleed until they take you into the bus for a more accurate reading. if a hot pie is enough to lower your breath alcohol below our (currently quite high) limit then you're fine and on your way.
It is the same in New Zealand, once got stopped first thing in the morning leaving Auckland City (on a work day), surprising number of people pulled over still drunk from the night before. eat your breakfast folks.
So that's how it's done? I had an escort 1300 flat head engine in my Anglia, I tried to blow it up when I got a 1600 to replace it with... I couldn't, valves were bouncing and tires smoking but the thing wouldn't die, I ended up getting an oil jet in one of the cylinders while driving normally some weeks later and figured that was as good a time as any to discard it.
Anyone has got to be a bit retarded to be doing 35-50mph without knowing where they are going. do they run face first into walls when it is dark too?

ohh, downmodded, must have hit a nerve.
This: it makes me cringe every time I see someone plugging in a cable with enough force to insert a nail into hardwood.

especially when the "pots" are "full to the brim" with "monitoring equipment"

Just for kicks I want a dino-bone shaped liberator, then wait for the scramble of politicians trying to pass new laws.

I think the key to training is repetition, a little difficult to do after your bird has been through the shit spinner

the Ford Anglia is just begging for a changeover, the wipers and starter motor work just fine with negative ground
I always thought we'd end up with a 1" cube with one port, pretty close to those android sticks they're selling these days.
