I can adjust my house temperature when I am away. I love it. Turn it down while on vacation, even if I forgot to before I left, then an hour before getting home, turn it up so it is comfortable.

Access control is another good one. Allow someone in your home if you are not there.

    There are useful implementations.

I wonder... if you define what constitutes a legal 3D printed gun, might that encourage the design and production of these guns? The result would be more guns out there.

  3. Already Banned on 3-D Printed Gun Ban Fails In Senate · · Score: 5, Insightful

Undetectable guns are already banned. The failed legislation was a modification to require inclusion of metal components that would be hard to remove. If you think about it, that doesn't make much sense....its either detectable or its not. Those with criminal intent would not likely be deterred by this minor modification.

The demand for music streaming may be affected by the experiences of those who pay a provider for a few years then all of the sudden have their whole music world shut off when their provider goes belly up. They'll find another service, but will it have all the same music? Maybe some of those folks will wish they had purchased the music instead of paying subscription... or maybe they'll move back to the pirate world.

While Tesla direct sales are an example of the the type of practice this law intends to ban, it is not because of Tesla that they want this law enacted. It is the dealers protecting themselves from being cut out by their own car companies. For the near future, they could care less about Tesla specifically. Calling it Anti-Tesla is a bit "Tesla-centric", IMO. But it makes headlines, I guess.

I suppose there is an argument if you compare single package deliveries. But if you look a normal full truck roll I find it hard to imagine. It takes a lot of work to keep a copter in the air. Rolling is a very energy efficient method of moving objects. Think about what it takes to ride a bike versus what it would take to pedal a copter with you in it.

He should be more up-front though, as we have already discussed at length the misuse of the statistical comparison.
