I really enjoyed the film. I wasn't really scared until the last 10 minutes of the film. What I enjoyed more was the style of the film, being shot by hand and being so incredibly real. The actors and the actress were very good.
Do you think the directors told Mike to ditch the map? And do you think they told Josh that he would be kidnapped? I mean how else would he know not to scream in the middle of the night? I think making the film must have been incredibly difficult because if they gave the actors/actress too much information they wouldn't be truly scared.
I am also wondering if the scene were (I think her name is Ann) is taking to the camera and crying and you only see 1/4 of her face was scipted. I don't see how that emotion could have been conveyed with a script.
Anyway i loved the film. Someone earlier said that they thought younger audiences would not be scared by it. Well I'm 14 and i found it scary. I also find that gore in movies makes them less scary, unless used verywell, like the blood in phyco or the pecked out eyes in the birds.

He will no doubt be upset about this (because he has feelings). He wants his freedom. Now change robot to "african american" and we are faced with a problem that we had 130 years ago. So i bet soon there will be a robots civil rights movement. A robots civil war. Robots will want the right to vote. So we give robots all this and they don't want to work for us for free anymore. And we are back where we started.
  17. Analog!!!!!!!!! on Robotic Butler available for $800 · · Score: 1

Most people who look farther into AI than R2D2 and C3P0 will realize that digital ain't got the balls, analog's where it's at. What we need is more people out there screwing around with analog tech trying to get some robots. I heard of some expiriment where these folks wired together a robot that simulated the CNS of a small cockroach(via analog). They put the thing on the ground and it apparently walked a lot like a living thing. If someone finds a link to that article please tell me.
And NO I'm not just trusting internet news to tell me that digital is bad. Have you ever tried to program a robot to autonomosly do something? It's hard as hell!!! My school built one of those lego robots for the "Penninsula robotics challenge" here in virigina, coolest thing i've ever done, but it was wild complicated. And all of the teams that built big complicated robots which had many moving parts lost miserably. Robots get caught in nasty cycles, I think this is what they ment in the article when they said the robot got caught in elecrical cords. We did win, but by a small margin.
So what I'm trying to prove her is that digital sucks, at least the way we use it sucks, and we should give analog a shot.

  24. This is not a new idea on NASA Was Prepared to Silence Stranded Moon Astronauts · · Score: 1
I admit that it is horrible what our government was planning to do. But it only makes sense.
    • If we had just let them "disappear" then there would be no doubt that we tried our hardest. They just disappeared, nothing that nasa could do there.

    • However if they had main engine failure or they're computers broke it would be reflected upon nasa. Nasa would be blamed for not testing their equipment enough and being careless.

And if nasa had decided to try to rescue the astronauts:
    • We all know that it took roughly 3 days to get to the moon. Now I doubt that the "eagle" was equipt with more than 2 days worth of oxygen. So there's a VERY small chance that nasa would have gotten there in time.

    • Not to mention the fact that this was back in the days of apollo. We didn't have 5 space shuttles just lying around ready to use. If nasa wanted to go to the moon they would have to build a new apollo. (or if they did have one partially built they'd have to finish it REALLY fast.)

So I hope that now we are realizeing how INCREDIBLY impossible it would be for nasa go on a rescue mission.

So what does nasa do? Like i said in the begining. The astronauts "disappear". Nasa whips up some story about the eagle getting off the surface of the moon and being hit by a piece of rock just before it docs up with the rest of the space ship.

Now don't tell me this has never been thought up before. Have you ever seen "CONTACT" the movie? In the movie (and maybe the book, i never read it) the female astronaut who is traveling through the galaxy is givin a suicide pill, so that she can kill herself if worst comes to worst.

Now don't make me seem anal but I'm sure this is the policy with russia. As most of us have figured out by now, more cosmonauts go into space than come back. Well, I'm sure your're asking, where do these cosomonauts go?

    They disappear!!!!!

(it is not a new idea, most of us have know this for years, it's just now that the government tells us.)
