Has anyone been able to get gmailfs working? or could point me to an instruction page I have tried getting it working and have not had a lot of luck.

Non Distructive Partitioning

I've heard that the HF+ patch to parted rocks and is able to non destructivly repartition HFS+ hard disks. So you don't need to format.
