Resorting to name calling and conspiracy alleging doesn't make you look any better. But it does make it easier to dismiss anything else you have to say. The amazing thing is, regardless of your concerns, this is going forward, it's going to help the cause of eradicating child exploitation, and there is nothing you can do about it.

There are a lot of comments like yours in this story, basically stating the fear that innocents will be caught up in a dragnet. The cynic in me just concludes you are worried someone has a record of that child porn torrent you downloaded in 2008 and quickly deleted but did watch with interest beforehand. Don't worry, you aren't the target.

Try googling "pedophile ring". Organized pedophilia is hardly hypothetical. And, since being a pedophile is obviously independent of your economic or social class, there are going to be organized pedophile rings among the rich, famous, and powerful too. Those are going to be harder to bust simply because they are composed of powerful resourceful people who society hesitates to question in the first place.

It's true, it is no accident that everything Anonymous does now is in line with our foreign policy and law enforcement objectives. Maybe even more clever than that, because pedophilia is a touchy subject internationally with our allies, many of whom have no problem selling little girls to rich men and see people not in their class as totally expendable. By having this seeming independent group of "anarchists" take on those touchy issues, you have ample plausible deniability, and you get your objectives met with relatively little effort and exposure.

Really I think it's a good use of all those little script kiddie punks' time and effort. Do something useful instead of just undermining our own institutions.

How was this professor supposed to know she was a victim of past rape? Did he? If he did, he's a piece of shit and should be fired. Blackberry should throw all its weight behind supporting the Xamarin platform in particular, and mono in general. Want that app for your platform too? Well send the developer in question an easy solution to do that, in the form of Xamarin with the necessary libraries you might need to port, and you will find that developer rather excited to become more platform-agnostic.

I use Xamarin and I find it very user-friendly and cutting-edge. In the process I've been picking up C# and I'm quite happy with the improvements relative to C++ and Java that are included. And this is no less than a miracle, because I have been very very anti-Microsoft in general, and anti-Miguel de Icaza in particular, for over a decade.

Back then I felt those guys were trying to co-opt or destroy the FOSS movement, and I think they were definitely trying to do so, but they got their asses handed to them. Now, having quietly capitulated, the Xamarin guys are just focusing, it seems to me, on making good competitive products on a relatively open platform. That's fine for my corporate needs.
