I have been a beta tester for digital cable in my area (eastern TN) for a little over 6 months now. The cable box I use is made by Scientific Atlanta. You can see it here. Anyway... the point of this post is that I'm not waiting for the digital infastructure to be in place so I can get more channels or better picture, I want the 27mb/s that Time Warner is promising once the entire area is digital.

I have a dream... that when a brand new video card comes out, I will have a linux driver and an X-server all ready install... out of the BOX!
I have a dream... that people will figure out that it doesn't matter what distrobution of linux you are running... Kernel 2.2.14 is Kernel 2.2.14! It doesn't matter what color packaging the box comes in.
when I use my a credit card online, I use my check card. So there is no interest. The safety of it I'm not very concerned with. If there is a charge on my check card that I didn't make, I just call the bank and they get rid of it.

Add some distilled water to the chamber, and fire. As the liquid squirts it looks just like water. But when it hits something _ anything that contains calcium, which can be found on people and all kinds of other things -- it lights up.
What would be really fun is if you could make a light bulb out of this liquid and powdered calcium. A refill would be a pack of tums.
I wouldn't say its linux's first real competition. MAC OS X doesn't even run on x86 much less SPARC, ALPHA, IA64,... and if MACOS X is POSIX compliant, you could possibly run LinuxPPC applications on it. You have to remember... Windows NT is POSIX, that doesn't mean that I can run my x86 linux apps on it (although MACOS X is BSD based and linux binaries will run in BSD, oh well... don't expect them to compile easily.)
Usually Stock splits are to make the stock more attractive to the buyer. Buying 10 shares of Ebay at $400 a share doesn't sound as good as buying 40 shares of Ebay at $100.

But an uncertain fate such as the chance that you might hit someone is far less than the certainty that your wife will die. I have been in this situation with my at the time Girlfriend, I won't give you the details of the story, but if I hadn't gone 110 in a 45 she wouldn't be alive today.
First of all there is no better press than a scandal that you can legalese your way out of. If you look like the underdog being viciously prosecuted by psychos and you win, you are a hero.
Secondly, Uri should be happy he is getting all this publicity. I am an avid Pokemon television show watcher, and I loved the movie. If it weren't for Pokemon, and this story I would have no idea who Uri Geller was. Now I think he is cool b/c he is modeled after my favorite pokemon.
Where do you think the future of computing is heading (ie. Thin clients run from ISP's over high speed internet connections, or the way it is heading now with bigger, faster, and more expensive computers)

Are you serious? People don't carjack cars to keep them. They car jack them to sell them.
For LAN games TCP/IP is way too slow. I use UDP myself, it has very low overhead, and I use only good hardware so there is little collision if any.

The PSX2 is not only a console, it is a DVD player. I'd pay $400 for a high quality console and a sony DVD player built into one.
