    Master/Slave has never been and never will be a good metaphor for Independent/Dependent components. There is a always a better name that conveys the relationship better than Master/Slave. Has nothing to do with whether or not it is politically correct. It's simply a terrible metaphor to begin with and does not convey useful information about how the components relate to one another.

    On the other hand, my 75 year-old mother loves this show. She is basically confined to a wheel-chair at this point, but, she still has her mind. She thinks this show is hilarious for some inexplicable reason. Personally, I believe it is because my Mom is a much more intelligent person than her life and health has allowed her to live and so she is attracted to the "idea" of a bunch of science-types sitting around, goofing off, and enjoying themselves (no matter how unrealistic or inaccurate). So, for that alone, I appreciate the cast, crew, and writers of this show for giving my mother a number of years of joy. So long, and thanks for all the laughs (on my mother's behalf).

    In a recent study it was found that "living" has a 100% mortality rate over the life of an organism. No amount of life is safe. It always leads to death.     I've been using Linux exclusively on all of my own computers since 1994. I've never owned any computer that ran a Microsoft or Apple OS as it's primary OS. Ever. I went from TRS-80/Commodore/Atari to DOS-based IBM PC, to OS/2 Warp in the '92/'93 time-frame, then Linux in '93/'94 and never looked back. The Year of the Linux Desktop came a long time ago.
