Only people who use the internet for making pipe bombs, dealing drugs, and looking at child pornography need privacy! -- Or so some people seem to think.. I understand that there needs to be responsible parties behind every action.. But the misconception that only those who intend to do harm want privacy.. is just outlandish. It's a way of protecting people from themselves.. and protecting society from those who prey on the innocent. Hah.
And I'm sure the idea of quality/standard control over competing carriers has to be the prompting of them backing the Bells. The government always has the general publics best interest in mind.
I can see both sides.. but from Ford's point of view.. I think it's a bad idea to sue.. It is just causes the slander to linger, and be viewed by a larger audience..
They are letting their buttons be pushed.

Anyway.. I don't see this being a long-term trend.. There are only so many wealthy people who would pay 20 million to drink vodka in space..
the issue of privacy, from a policy position is something that is importent.. but to "create a position" and "appointing" an officer.. it seems more to be a PR thing than something with true merit.
I dont believe in censorship.. but I think we have to be careful of any ruling in the area of censorship.. anything put down on the books can be bad.. lawyers are tricky folks (no offense to any lawyers out there, they aren't all bad).. but anything put down in "stone" can be used against the cause, as well as for it..
this was in san francisco.. at the sony/psx store at the metreon.. like i said.. this was a few weeks ago.. i'm sure they have the hook-up.. maybe they were placing a few units out every day.. i don't know..
i am going to wait to get one anyway.. they haven't released many games for it yet anyway.. waiting isn't that big a deal.. we've all survived this long.
at least something like this isn't going in the law books.. therefore precident can't be claimed.
it's when something like this can be used in another case as precident i think we really have to worry.. although lower courts have power, at least there are some forms of checks and balences left.
why do kids need a psx2 now?? why can't they wait a month.. dave barry is pretty funny, and he is hip to whats going on..
psx2 isn't that hard to find. I saw them on the shelves about 2 weeks ago, of course this was before the thanksgiving day sales started.. I don't think kids would mind getting a raincheck and a few games for their playstations, instead of their parents spending 700 dollars on one.. think of how many games they could have bought if they didn't scalp one off of ebay..
To tax free software.. that is just beyond wacky.. Things like this, I believe it is attitudes like that holds back progress, technology, and communications on a world-wide scale.
censorship is bad enough.. but this sorted, automated process of censorship is just dumb.. things like this are subjective.. and such an objective outlook/process is ridiulious to even try.
it's a sinking ship.. and they are trying to salvage as much as possible.. what better than to grab onto something as big and over-inflated, and full of air like MS!;>
i think radio technology has been under-rated in the last few years.. but i think we are going to see a big change.. especially with whats going on in the tech industry.. wireless communications expanding into areas and bands we havent seen.. I think this is something that a few people haven't forgetten thank god.. it isn't all about unix.. =)
Ok, so there is no open bar.. but there is no promotion like having a club, full of geeks who cant dance.. with an open bar.. with sourcecode being projected/scrolled on the wall.
People will sue for anything.. The general public on the whole doesn't have a clue, and can't deal with taking responsibility for their own actions.. they always need to whine and blame.. sigh
Along with the beeper and the cell-phone.. its fashion accessory of the late 90's.. early 00's I guess.. I mean when Glamour magazine is showing models using them.. and showing how they make "special purses" for them.. you know its "hip thing" or something
pfft.. whatever.. media is media.. people still form their own opinions.. and hopefully arent railroaded.. actually i'm probably wrong.. the next thing you know.. we will have ground-troop webcams.. sick sick world.. sigh
Paranoia.. its alla bout paranoia.. and things like this.. that are very public.. make the people feel safe and secure.. where its really just a charade.. kinda like airport security.. like if i really wanted to hijack a plane.. id use a plain ole gun.. of course not.. id use plastic explosives that would be undetectable.. DUH!@#!.. but people FEEL safer walking through big ass metal detectors..
HIP is unbelieveable I hear.. I unfortunatly didnt go 2 years ago.. I was at Beyond Hope in nyc instead.. but my friends who went had a great time... here is my chance to go to europe..

i have a feeling new strong high tech fibers will be used for safety, practicality and bondage.. before they start making dresses using it..

PSX2 seems more and more interesting. I just want one now. I hope they release early, and they have some more interesting "flaws"
