Yes, there are docs how to set up LDAP, kerberos, etc. There are even full working configurations for a few cases - PDC, BDC, NT, w2k etc. When people asked how to setup that or that in mailing list, usual answer was to wait for this book.
I know it's not interesting for you americans, but try to get to some Baltic web site with Netscape (eg. http://www.lrytas.lt , http://www.sat.lt). I would understand if Netscape does not show Lithuanian letters, but it does not show entire page!! It shows question marks, something like that: ?????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????
Here open source wins - there is no such problem with mozilla. I hope it is better with 4.7...
"This is really p*****g me off. ANY exposure of the name Linux on any high profile product is FANTASTIC NEWS - even if the support actually sucks. Other compnaies will see what they are doing and follow their lead." - And one day we will see new Windows - a lot of binary drivers and no source, no datasheets. Why do you think Linux is much more stable than Windows - because people writing kernel and drivers understand drivers interoperation and if there is any problem you can always look at the source. Do you think Linux will be more stable if there will be a lot of binary drivers?
You definitely should note that with binary only drivers manufacturer has to provide drivers for a lot of platforms, not only for i386. There is no such problem with open source drivers.

I downloaded a driver and cannot see any word
about supported platforms in README. Will it
work on Alpha?
