    It's the "Depth of Field" in photographer speaking. If you have a person and his face in focus 3 feet away, then it's impossible to have the background (infinity) in focus. (Well, maybe Art Wolf's CGI stuff) This is due to the optical limitation and the nature of human eye. Those who complaint pobrably never pickup a real camera and wouldn't in the time of their lifes understand why Leica lens have great bokeh.

  3. some thoughts on Cameron on Mars miniseries · · Score: 1

    First of all, the images are pretty uninspriting. Maybe the guy was using a Sony flappy digicam? ;)

    As far as I can remember, this seems to be the escape clause Cameron came up with for his FOX contract so he can actively pursue his Spiderman dream --this is yet another reason why Cameron is the coolest working director today. It's a shame that he didn't get to do With Wings as Eagel , oh well at least Arnold is still there; I really don't want he to waste his time and energy on Ture Lies 2 or T3. The guy probably still has one and a half great movie left. I pay to god he didn't screw it up;

    Abyss vs Mars Series worst Cameron anyone? Well Strange Days was good, probably he actually can pull it off without putting too much time on it. I wonder if his new wife/girlfriend has anything to do with the project?

    It's not that ridicious. Assuming pepsi sales 20 cents on every can they sell. (would have lower) 7million points is 1.4m doughts. Giving away an award (police car-crashing harrier jet) at the 6% of it's value is not that outratgous.

    Memorex keep giving away blank 10pack cd-r for free after rebate. How's that different from giving away a harrier jet. Assuming you government allow you to obtain a harrier jet and Pepsi would have to give the guy a functional jet according to the commercial (which I doubt it). Pepsi just have to buy a beat up old harrier which can barely lift the ground for 5 million or so. That's pretty good publicity stung. I'm pretty sure it will make nytimes first page. Here is a link for libretto 1100, note the remote that have every function of a rio.

    Just have some imagination, in the next 2 years, the keybroadless miniature notebook will come out. The first one will have the size of a old game boy, the new ones will shrink shinner. The touch screen will be supported. (touchscreen is cheap, there's a $900 subnotebook already support it) And the keybroad (foldable?) and other stuff will all connect via USB.

    The highend model will have a type II slot, so you can run a solid state hard drive on it, with screen turn off, you can run it for 8-12 hours. When the next generation of keybroadless mininotebook appear, it will be light enough for a portable music player. This is a decisive barrior-breaker for any RIAA lame attempt to shut down mp3. Even if Rio can't make mp3 players anymore, people who can afford it will be able to play mp3 on win9X/linux/winCE platform. And some day palm XX will too. :)

Granted it doesn't have the ad square that Netzero have and can last up to 4 hour for newsgroup download, but I'm not going to pay for it for 20 bucks. I can do much more with cable tv. I can accept the Ad like I do with network tv as far as it doesn't flash. The moment it flashs I put a paper on my monitor and ignore it all together.
