Long term it would be best if mergers were prevented/banned all together. If a company is having financial difficulties, it should go bankrupt. Also, if a company is doing really well, it shouldn't be possible for it to expand by merging with another company. That's how you prevent monopolies. Quite simple, actually.

That's what I think, too. All people are crazy in some way, just more or less crazy. OTOH, what is normal? How does one define what's normal? Normal was different 10000 years ago, 2000 years ago, 100 years ago, or 20 years ago. I said 20 years ago on purpose, because at the time having a mobile phone wasn't regarded as not normal. I don't use a mobile phone, so I'm regarded as being not normal these days. I'm not claiming I am normal, though. :)

I'm all for people being able to buy guns, but as here in Europe you shouldn't be able to buy it so easily. Here, you have to present documents like your criminal record and history of mental illnesses. That would be enough to cut down on at least some of shootings like this, because young demented people like this would have to go through some "hoops" to get a gun. Or buy it on the black market, of course, but that's a hoop too. Having said that, the problem is actually much bigger. It's the modern culture, which includes so many things I just don't have time to count all of them, and that is much harder to change. Starting with encouraging narcissism and competition, shaming of smart people and glorifying idiots, envy and vanity is rampant... etc. Change the values of this culture and we will have no more shit like this.

Yes, it's rather hypocritical and a bit funny sometimes, that people can be so anal about their health, yet the air we breathe in the cities is so poisonous that whatever you do, you just cannot actually live healthily. I'd also like to notice one more thing... now that the media cannot demonise tobacco more than they have already, it seems like the alcohol is next in line. Alcohol is new tobacco. When they're done with demonising alcohol, they'll start demonising sex. And that's how you create a new puritan state. People are already living fucked up depressed lives, we don't need more restrictions or worries, we need less of both. Having said that, you don't take any of your toys, or your money to the grave with you. Live well, and die well. Happiness. Read some Epucurus.... d= ;)

I do have to use W7 and XP for making music, though. I've been considering Mac for music lately, but I just have so many audio programs that work only on Windows. For as long as it works, I don't mind. But W8 and 10? God forbid. No way I'm going to upgrade for as long as I can install 7 on newer PCs, which btw. still works perfectly no matter what MS propaganda is trying to say.
