      Make a coworker (fuck the "user" mentality) feel good
      Make a coworker look good to peers and management
      Lecture the entire work universe about security (again, and again, and again)
      Head off the, "Well, no one ever told me ..." crap

    I was a broken record, and sometimes a person would screw up (I kept that between the two of us) but it was about the best I could come up with.

    The answer to security, everywhere, not just IoT, is litigation.

    Security starts with the hardware/software manufacturers and includes proper implementation by the end user.

    Weak links should be showing up in court.
