I notice that "Cubane" sounds a helluva lot like "Cobain". Listening to an R.E.M. song: blame, blame, blame"You came to bang, bang, bang, bang, and bang," You bang, bang, bang, bang, and bang, It's not my thing so let it go." And that song's supposed to be a tribute to Kurt. Coincidence? I think not. (Aw, PHUQ! A black helicopter just landed in my cornpatch... EOF)
Julia Butterfly Hill lived high in the limbs of a redwood for over 2 years, and saved a chunk of the Headwaters forest from clear-cutters and Corporate Greed. And now some clown's gonna lock himself up in his house (which he prolly seldom leaves anyway), and prove that one can throw themselves on the mercy of E-commerce and not starve.
The 16 yr olds might not understand, but I don't understand lottsa what they understand so it's cool I guess. I remember when Waters/Floyd were things that only heads and geeks understood (along with Yes, Tangerine Dream...)
Waters is pretty fatalistic about *everything*. But I'm remembering something different. An interview with the Floyd back around 1969-70. A dream they had to turn their show and their music into a traveling circus. With Big Top and all. Maybe Waters is remembering that. Strictly on the side, I'll bet I'm the only/. reader with "Pink Floyd" tattooed anywhere on their body.:-)
...but for all the whining I've read about the freeze being pushed forward a bit, I haven't seen a single whiner jump in to offer their help. I mean, really. Linux is software By the People and For the People. And Debian is IMO the distro that sticks the most closely to that credo. Help was asked for on the floppies. Anyhow, I've been running 100% potato since June (and I don't dual-boot. Debian GNU/Linux is the only OS on my system, and has been for three years). It's always been rock solid. If you've got a mission critical system that you don't want to risk anything with, Slink should do the job. If you've got an extra box handy, put Potato on it and enjoy. It really *is* turning out to be a great distro.:-)
Now, THIS sounds like the posting of a dumb hick. You lump anybody doing paranormal research together and call them "ridiculous", and naurally expect that everybody reading this is, in a fit of narrow-mindedness that rival your own, lumping the folks of Evansville together as "Dumb Hicks". The "Grey Lady" is a well-known phenomenon. WHAT it is or is not has yet to be determined. Nobody is more skeptical than the people that investigate this sort of thing. But at least they aren't narrow-minded.
The "proof" photos and the comments are what one can expect from a site like this; someone with an imagination can look at a poor quality photo and see anything. Anybody interested in for real ghost photos, check out Dave Oester's excellent site at:

They are doing some *serious* work in that direction, and besides archives of photos, also offer a wealth of info.

This is like, the most disgusting post I've ever read. Go visit yer grandma, bring her some fresh flowers and good cheer. Sheesh. Betcha ain't done that in a while.
I found the site hilarious! Some pholks might not get it instinctively, but this is NOT yet another M$ SUX site. It pokes fun at the windoze 'droids that ya typically see posting on ZDNET's "Talkback" thingy when slashdotters take over the discussion. Thanks for the great belly-laugh. I'd like to see a similar page portraying the more immature "Linux Advocate"(tm).
Remember Mr Bill on the old Saturday Night Live? Imagining a cool show along those lines, where the "Mr Bill" clay doll uncannily bears a bit of resemblance to the Mr Bill in Redmond... "Mr. Hands" could be a sysadmin, and "Sluggo" could become a bit more penguin-like... just a thought.:-)
Isn't this the same Ed Muth that blabbered on about how Linux was a Force to be Reckoned With(tm), until he figured out that it wasn't a 10 year old's entry into a soapbox derby? Who gives a rat's ass what Microsoft considers to be Open Source? They're a dying breed..
I say RMS rocks. Without his fierce, uncompromising idealism, the entire free software movement would be much diluted, and would possibly not exist at all. I respect this sort of a lion; agree or disagree, there is nothing wishy-washy about him. And as far as the half-assed comments about RMS needing to get a life; he's GOT one. One with a very intense focus, that placid sheep will never understand.
And the same superiority-complex pussies are sneering.
Good luck, Mr. Walker.

Huh? I look at any graphics I want to with Lynx. Check out ZGV.
>To quote Eric Cartman, "Dirty tree-hugging hippies!"
I thought it was: "Stupid shallow-minded ditto-heads"..
Oh, well. Ya missed the point anyway.
BTW, check out Julia's story at htp://www.luna.org
A cool video clip of her descent from Luna after 2 years
can be found in the archives at CNN.

"Wish You Were Here" was great, no doubt.
But in terms of relaxing...
Ever check out "Fat Old Sun", on the "Saucerful of Secrets" disc?

Leave it to an AC to find complaint-generator output /.
amusing enough to barf it up on
Excellent question! Somebody moderate that up..
um.. maybe because Windoze has a stranglehold on
the market? Of *course* most of the stuff is circled
with Paint!

Sure it's possible. LynxSSL.
Right on, man!
Keep on making a difference. Wishing you luck on this.
