  2. Learn what the word "cop" means. on Virtual Addiction · · Score: 1

    JonKatz says:
He cops to being a bit addicted himself.

I know slashdot is known for its trendsetting use of the English language, but adding new meanings for existing words en passant is not something Mr. Katz's literary reputation gives him license to do.

Away, hanger-on! And by the way, Timothy, stop putting "Oh My" in your story titles. It's such a feeble way to spruce up a story.

  3. Cyber-Jabberwocky on The New Geography · · Score: 4
Funny, I don't see myself as a troll, but who can resist? Frankly the examples Katz cites are much less opaque and far fetched than those Katz frequently writes. And much less rambling. This is just a lame attempt at a smokescreen to draw attention away from JonKatz's own "Cyber-Jabberwocky".

    Katz reads book

Katz genuinely feels like it's Cyber-Jabberwocky

Katz gets sinking feeling that this is how his work is perceived

Katz pans book to try to distance himself.

The observant reader may speculate that I, the writer of this, may have the same hangup. Could be!

    Probably not.

    Does it

    Support printers?

    Support audio devices?

Support video modes other than text?

    Provide graphical configuration?

    Support accelerated display via DGA?

    Support floppy drives?

Support ip through the host's adaptor?

    Support serial ports

    Support fullscreen mode.

Of course it doesn't. Vmware does all these things today. Not a year from now, or two years. Not just on linux. Buy a copy of vmware. They deserve your dollars, and you deserve their fabulous piece of software.

And no, I don't work for them

Well said. I would rather live a hundred celibate lives than reach the depths of self- and external degradation to which the original author has sunk.

I hope his wife is at peace with being handmaid, sperm repository, and baby factory. I am so revolted by the number of assenting responses to this essay, (to paraphrase woody allen "and I'm complimenting you by considering it an essay") that I once again resolve to never read Slashdot again.
