If something like that happened, you would expect the copilot to say something about it. Instead, all they hear is the captain banging on the door, and only continued breathing from the copilot.
It's impossible to crash this type of Airbus plane by accidentally leaning on the controls after a heart attack. Also, they could hear normal breathing until the last moment, and they know that the door must have been locked from the inside.
And sometimes people get together, and vote on certain decisions that take some freedoms away, in return for what they think is an overall improvement in their lives.
Allowing people to express their sincere religious belief in how and who they choose to do business with SHOULD be allowed regardless, as a matter of law.

The reason people struggle with it is because the scenario doesn't make a ton of sense.
The purpose of this thought experiment is not to challenge you to find creative solutions that avoid the dilemma. Just tell them to focus on the essence of the dilemma.
