    Complete faith in a single scientist is not required. It is clear that most people have a bias, but as long as these are diverse enough, errors due to these biases will correct themselves.

    The growing population only increases future demand for fuel, adding to the problem.

    Instead of adding it all up over the last couple of decades, it would be more fair to look at the yearly budget. The budget for climate change science was about $2 billion in 2010, and on average somewhat less than in the years before that. That doesn't sound like a whole lot for a potential game changer.

    Well, we know that paper made hundreds of years ago lasted that long. That doesn't mean that modern paper has the same properties.

    Not a doctor, no, because not all the information is available, and you need to be licensed. All the information is available to learn how to code, and there's no license required.

    Not particularly. The latest Intel designs are better. Also, the CPU needs big and fast memory, and plenty of I/O bandwidth to do useful stuff. Not typically the stuff you find on a cell phone.
