    But if poster wants to wire the entire house. A single PLC isn't going to do the job, because you don't want to replace a light switch with a PLC that's 3 rooms away. You want something small that you can put in place of the old manual switch.

    As a bonus, the PLC has CSA and UL certifications, so when your house burns down, your insurance is still valid.

    Doesn't mean much if you wire it the wrong way.

    With such a huge swing, I wouldn't say that was "controlling" the temperature very much. A good thermostat will keep your room to within a degree, and avoids over/undershoot by using a more sophisticated algorithm than just bang-bang control.

    If you're in the local minority, it is wise to shut up and nod. There are a million Muslims in the USA, but close to half a million Paris metro area. When neighborhoods get a majority Muslim population, they start to make the rules.

    You forgot to mention that hydrogen generation from electricity is not very efficient. Transport and storage requires all new infrastructure, and converting it back to electricity isn't very efficient either.

    You act like that's a huge deal. Just make a locking mechanism. And in the case somebody breaks the lock, the power can be cut until a new payment authorization is made.

    Start with the places where it's easiest, and gradually extend. When building a new parking garage, make sure there are plenty of power cables and/or empty conduits. It's also not trivial to retrofit existing gas stations with an additional hydrogen tank and pumps, especially not since hydrogen isn't very energy dense, so it requires much more tank volume.

    I don't see why you would think that any program would care about the exact password somebody is going to use. On the other hand, plenty of programs keep track of time and/or do calculations based on the time. And not every program is connected to the internet, so it can download the newest update of leap seconds.

    You must have missed the part where I said to correct the error when it has grown to an hour.

    at noon on the day of the summer solstice, the sun should sit on the celestial meridian.

    Many people around the world live in a time zone that's already an hour off. What's a few more seconds/minutes ? All of China has a single time zone, and they still manage to survive.

    Otherwise there is no way we could keep track of things like sunrise and sunset, or when you might see a specific star

    You don't think we could simply adjust the calculations for sunrise and sunset ?
