from what i gathered its sent when you login to ANY server..not their master server. and its sent direct to ID. its not like a cookie - those are DOCUMENTED. this is NOT.
score 3 ? you ignorant twit - the fitting or the black box is a radar reflector - the brits used a themal imaging system to detect and track the B2 at the airshow. The B2 was NOT outfitted with an "enhancer" that increased its thermal cross section. Thus the brits DID track the B2 with an IR based SAM system -- just as they would do the same in a real life combat situation. Stealth != IR invisible, stealth = reduced radar cross section.
how bout we let the average/. reader decide by opening the input queue and letting people moderate the hell out of stories ? that way only the moderating majority gets to choose which stories make it to the front.
not sure. i operated on the assumption/. editors would moderate this highly and put it in their own words...i just whacked the link at the top in plain text, copied a bunch of stuff from cnn below it and ended with a cool, huh ? guess/. editors dont edit as much as they should...or read the cnn story as much as they should. anyway, here a suggestion - how bout/. allowing readers to moderate the input queue (last time i checked it had 475 stories/day or something like that) and select the ones most interesting with comments on what it should look like on the front page. the highest ratings can then be placed on the front page. put it in a slashbox - rawqueue or something and give everyone a fixed no. of points.
i'll second this one./. should refrain from generating its own news/rants whatever. the old/. would probably never have posted such shit...please keep news on the front page - not some silly essay on the demise of the net/pollution/info overload and other crap. and can we moderate stories ? i'd love to give this one -1, redundant.
*shrug* he can always rewrite the small bit of code. there's no real need to GPL the entire app if he can do without or rewrite it. anyway, copyrights dont apply for code bits 10 lines. and if you cant rewrite it - well..then you shouldnt be writing code anyway.
i wrote a small search routine for an oracle db that ran pretty quick on a small database (400 records). because i anted to abstract the db, the routine was : read request -> select table_name from all_tables -> search for correct table thru the whole list -> generate select statement -> return read info. this works ok until the db grew to 50,000 records and several hundred tables for each group of records. on a sun sparcserver with 4 400MHz ultrasparc2 cpu's it took *5* *minutes* to return *1* request. needless to say i had to write a 4 level 250 slot cache routine to return it to a sane time (under 1/2 second)...in other words kiddies - optimise manually dammit.
i dont doubt it but novell employees dont influence management much anyway. its the management which makes the decisions not the coders...anyway, i hope they include a GPL relicense clause in their license instead of adding it to the general license pool of shit..which grows bigger every day. We ought to make it a clause in the dfsg..only licenses which allow GPL relicensing qualify as open source/free software licenses.
the point is that developers wrote the code and they have the inherent right to license it as they wish. dont like it ? go write it yourself or GPLise yer code.
they should simply have a clause which sez code can be relicensed under the GPL if desired. unfortunately they dont. anyone want to propose it as a modification ?
nope. active linux developers are the ones who work on the big projects..xfree, apache, E and the like..i've got 3 frreshmeat entries myself but no letter.
when QNX catches up with IBM mainframe hardware/software and Sequents Dynix then you'll be able to speak.

but do we fall off if we sail to the edge ?
notice i said relicense not be compatible with.

kewl. now i just wish someone would come up with the freshmeat equivalent of all free docs etc etc.

actually i've given up on windoze for some time now. i switched away to Irix, then solaris and now linux...now im also sticking to linux.
yep. dvdrw's are like cdrw's.
ya. its called tivo. and source is available (finally!). www.tivo.com
actually its $1.50 per disk in bulk or $2 per disk for a 10 or 5 pack. i also bought a philips cdd2600 for $100..works great on my sun ultra2.
check out - metalab.unc.edu/LDP
i doubt it. most new software is either c, c++ or java and/or plain SQL. all those systems are legacy and being replaced slowly.
no. micro$oft already holds the patent on that one. since 1982.
read the NCL. its more GPL than BSD.

you wont be able to get anything bigger than a .50 with a class 3 license.
