Erm, you're missing this point. This is censorship, IMO. Censorship is the deleting of parts of publications. Well, a web page is a publication. Therefore, it's censorship.
And so, there's no right to unfiltered internet access, but you cannot (read: legally should not, IMO) be able to restrict what people read in public libraries. It's all or none, just as they can't censor books. I don't see how this is any different.
True, it's possible they were not tuned fairly, but as we've seen from previous benchmarks, tuning does not turn a low score into a winner. Windows NT may improve with more tuning, but I don't think it would match Novell if Novell hadn't been tuned at all.
How about changing the default license 'all comments are copyright of the author' to: All comments are in the public domain, unless otherwise is stated in the comment?
I don't really think that would work out. I wouldn't really want people using my words without giving me credit, and I don't imagine too many other people would either. Perhaps a BSD like licence instead, just requiring credit to the orignal author when redistributing would be in order, though.
Well then, they're SOL. That should go for everyone. If you don't test well, you're screwed if you want to go to college, because colleges use tests to determine your grades. If someone wants to create a college for people who "don't test well" but can put together colored blocks to form something, then they should do so, and the tests should be preformed with colored blocks.
What I'm getting at is that the method that colleges use to teach information and ask you to recall is the way many people learn. You can't change the SATs to conform to a different method of showing intellegence if the person taking the test can't recall information on paper. It just won't work out in college.
Ah! But it doesn't matter, does it? If you recall from point 1, you can already take these burners and copy the encrypted versions and play them back. As mentioned before, the encryption only prevents playback, not copying.
I'd be wary of having this be a GNU project. It needs to be able to be used across different GUIs, text UIs, etc, and issues would arise if the library/whatever was GPLed.
For Debian users out there, take a look at debconf used extensively in some packages for configuration. I like the debconf's ideas. There's a backend that packages provide information to ask questions, and debconf provides various front-ends, such as text, curses, and GTK to answer with. This kind of approach could create a much more widely used system, IMO.
Why the hell did this get moderated up to a 5? I can't wait to meta-moderate this one, as this has got to be one of the worst moderating jobs in history. This is an off-topic flamebait. Oh wait! The key to moderation is to just moderate posts you agree with up and posts you disagree with down. Sigh...
Yes I know this is off-topic too, but I'm getting tired of the poor moderation jobs around here, and more than glad to take any karma hit this will give me.
Overdue? Since when did it become possible for something without deadlines to be overdue? Oh, and did you work on it? I know I didn't, but then again, I'm not complaining that it's not out fast enough.
It's to emphasize that the kernel is in a state in which no major development usually takes place, mostly just bug fixes (I know, there have been exceptions.) It's like a frozen state.

Two words: Yahoo mail
I don't do sigs.

Er, what makes you think this guy is a Windows guy? Oh right, he disagreed with your favorite Linux system vendor. Therefore he's evil.

What is this supposed to mean?
Maybe it's just me, but I thought thought that was supposed to be a bit of a joke.

Colin Ferguson sure didn't find any Constitutional protection for his personal expression of rage when he shot several passengers on a train.
Can we say bad analogy? I think so.

Trackballs make very nice alternatives to mice. Try the Logitech Marble. Twitch of my thumb, bam, I'm all the way across the screen.

Sorry, that's wrong...
From the patent mentioned in an above post:
Said ejection causes gas to be evolved from solution in the beverage in the
main container chamber to form a head of froth on the beverage.
The widget is most certainly for forming the froth.

Let me just say that you have single-handedly convinced me to go to a school other than Stanford.
Thanks!
There is a problem though. Porn came up with 21,686,120 matches, while Fully Clothed Nuns came up with only 84995.
I guess the internet is evil after all...
