Yeah, but I don't think you want to be trying to display graphics-heavy websites, or, worse yet, Flash-only websites, with a 1MHz computer. You'll just have to run everything in textmode and deal. *shrug*
This whole thing makes me want to go check out the "Commodore One" project...
> Panther will also support Dolby Digital 5.1 sound when used with the G5 optical audio output.
I notice the $350 set of 5.1 speakers they're offering at the Apple Store to go along with the G5 machines, but does anyone know of any optical-connecting 2.1 speakers that might cost a bit less? I have no need for 5.1 sound, and 2.1 would be more than sufficient, but I'd like to take advantage of the new optical connections...
If you're surprised by this announcement, you ARE an idiot. Why does this program still get used? There are compatible replacements out there that aren't NEARLY so bug-ridden. WTF is wrong with you people?!
That'd only get you one light for each Kbyte. Instead, multiply by 1024 to get bytes, then by 8 to get one light for each bit. Now *that* would be impressive!
"Biodiesel can be used in cars, light and heavy trucks, with few or no modifications. Studies show that a 20% blend can be burned in any diesel engine with no modifications at all. At a higher concentration, the more aggressive solvents in biodiesel may degrade certain rubber parts. Biodiesel experts recommend replacing certain hoses, for example with products that resist degradation.
Because biodiesel is a better solvent than petroleum, it is likely to dissolve crud that's been accumulating in the fuel tank. As a result, the fuel filter will probably need to be changed shortly after making the switch."
> They already run great on it. Not a thing needs to be changed.
I recently read this, which makes me wonder:
"Currently. Ford, Dodge and Volkswagen all void warranties if biodiesel is used. Volkswagen, however, sells a "biodiesel kit" that includes a few modifications suggested if biodiesel is used. Biodiesel has a somewhat lower energy density and more oxygen than petroleum diesel."
I don't think a mass DDoS attack from all the C64s in the world would overload my wristwatch. :)

Well, duh. This _is_ Slashdot - where else would I we be talking about? It's not like this is Slashdot.eu or something. :)
Get ready for lots of 40-column width formatted Slashdot postings! :)
If the computer was human, it would be of legal drinking age.
Geddit?

How about if it gets in the way, get rid of it?
> You can have my Northgate Omni keyboard when you pry it from my cold dead hands.
Uhm, so where do you live?
> since it's PS/2 I don't use up a USB port just for my keyboard
Dude, that's one of the things USB was intended for.
I also use one of these keyboards, which I found recently at a used computer parts place for all of $2.50. Unbelievable.
When I need a new one (or a black one), I'll go pay $60 for one at pckeyboards.com - they make them new. Yay.
This 'Extreme' naming just reminds me of the Stargate SG-1 episode with the 'Wormhole Xtreme' TV show. :)
I sure hope there's an 'X' on the packaging...or maybe racing stripes and a VTEC sticker.
Somebody call Commodore Decker and Captain Kirk!
> an rj-45 up my ass
:)
Nah, I'm sure they'll go with WiFi. I'm guess you know where the antenna will stick out, though.
Bug found in Bugmail. News at 11. *yawn*

Sorry, I meant Wolfenstein 3D...
ASCII-ish? You obviously have no idea what Castle Wolfenstein was.
And you're not thinking of the children!
I'm not a troll...I'm an _OGRE_! :)
...and all its derivatives (Doom, Quake, etc.)
Enough, already. Stop the madness. Think of the children - won't anyone think of the children?
Why do we need all these _new_ games? Everyone knows gaming was perfected with BZFlag. It's a scientific fact!
> Take a look at Larry Wall's background for an idea of what a diverse background can produce.

Yeah, a mish-mash of syntax like that in Perl. *bleh!*
Or perhaps one for network activity!
Or maybe one for keyboard or mouse activity.

Oh yeah, each light would need to be labelled.
> It's not what you think that matters
:)
;)
Ya know, that's not the first time I've heard that.
Fortunately, this is Slashdot.
I think I'd just call that a SULEV, then.
:)
Hell, with that thinking, I was 'partially' qualified to enter MIT. I had the SAT scores, but nothing else.
Oh yeah, and this:

> Trying to do everything at once would be *stupid*.
Exactly, so concentrate on the LaGrange points and the Moon. Leave the asteroid & Mars stuff for later. Mars will still be there.
