"À chacun son goût." sounds weird... how about "Chacun ses goûts."? I'm do not speak english very fluently, but I couldn't resist to reply to this because I don't read french very often here on slashdot.
Artificial Intelligence - A Modern Approach by Stuart Russell and Peter Norvig is a great book that explains many concepts in AI. It is the book the most used in Universities around the world to teach this subject. It is not language specific, covers most aspects of AI, is okay for beginners, and goes in the details...
I really enjoyed this book and think it is a great buy.
I dont own, nor have I had a chance to use any computer based on a Transmeta chip -- so I cant say wether they're any good or not....
...but I have to think that a fair (most?) amount of the buzz surrounding that company, and the single reason why any of us here pay attention to TMTA is because Linus Torvalds works there.
"'Settings' should be in the control panel...'Settings' is not a program!" (P7)
"I wouldn't expect 'Settings' or 'System' to be under 'Program'." (P9)
It seems pretty obvious to me that the problem for this user is not that the settings are "under something called Settings" but much more that they're under something called "Programs".
Programs (applications) should be grouped together, away from settings, in order to have a friendly user interface. It has absolutly nothing to do with Microsoft naming conventions... Please stop bashing Microsoft blindly, and if you need to report those participants' comments, please dont mutate them that much.
Because HTML e-mails are simply web pages, IE can render them and open binary attachments in a way that is appropriate to their MIME types. However, a flaw exists in the type of processing that is specified for certain unusual MIME types. If an attacker created an HTML e-mail containing an executable attachment, then modified the MIME header information to specify that the attachment was one of the unusual MIME types that IE handles incorrectly, IE would launch the attachment automatically when it rendered the e-mail.
An attacker could use this vulnerability in either of two scenarios. She could host an affected HTML e-mail on a web site and try to persuade another user to visit it, at which point script on a web page could open the mail and initiate the executable. Alternatively, she could send the HTML mail directly to the user. In either case, the executable attachment, if it ran, would be limited only by user's permissions on the system.
This is scary... I bet we will see more and more viriis that spread using Outlook.
that's so stupid. no compete doesnt say you cant work. 100% salary is WHEN YOU WORK. Dont fucking try to be as stupid as the worst of the worst employers
Thousands of people die every day. Get over it.

Rectification. Linus Tovalds doesn't work for Transmeta anymore, he left the company on the 20th of june. He now works for Guiness Breweries.
From the people you brought you CDE =))

Prevent rather than fix. Make sure every workstation has an anti-virus with auto-virus-definition-update, this will save you from 95% of the viriis.
Too bad I didnt use the "preview" button. Forgot to close that html tag
Ok, now should slashdot go after www.slashdotsucks.net, or www.slashdotsucks.com?
Think about it.
just my 2 cents
.... TITANIC? hahhaha. Its probably safer by plane, dont you think so?
Mafiab0y even has an homepage!
