Read the post I was responding to. "Early", in this case, means after a TV show was aired but before it is available on DVD. About 1 year maximum, in this case.
What TV show has 30+ episodes in a season ($100/$3)? TV seasons are usually fewer than 25 episodes.
Why not order the DVD? Because she wanted to watch it now? Why not order 1 episode for $3 to watch now and order the DVDs to arrive in a day or two? Why not go to the store and buy the DVDs now?
This is always the smoke screen that pirates use. I would have bought it. You want $x ? I would have bought it for $x/2 or $x/3. That goes for all reasonable values of x.
Now that she downloaded it, what's keeping her from buying the DVDs right now? She's "more than willing to buy it", right?
So even if this would have been patented in 1855, the patent would have expired in 1875. And Bunsen could have made some money. That doesn't seem like a problem. I welcome inventors making some money off their inventions.
I have linked to the dictionary to help you understand what the words actually do mean. No one is forcing you to click the links if you would prefer to remain ignorant though.
Censoring and name-calling are the new tolerance and open-mindedness.
Face it, Slashdot is a site where bigotry against religious people is promoted and advanced. Slashdot editors and commenters also overwhelmingly approve of bigotry against corporate leaders and corporate workers. It's a fever swamp of hatred and prejudice against these people and others. And Taco leads.
Maybe he wants his children to grow up in a home with both a Mom and a Dad.
People who want children often want this. Many consider it a good choice, perhaps even the best choice. Kids don't often wish their mom or dad would die (or disappear) and their remaining parent would move a same sex partner into the home.
It's actually a great idea for an App. Easy to make, easy to attract (phony) controversy to get publicity to boost sales.
And learning better vocabulary, diction, and grammar, and learning how to dress and act to appeal to various subcultures is extremely useful. And it's a good fit for the multimedia capabilities of the iPad and iPhone.
But there is no rational reason to consider homosexuality as a problem...
What if a guy wants to have a wife and children? It seems like homosexuality would be a problem in that case. It might, at least, make things more challenging.
It will be interesting to read how many people want this app censored. I'm guessing someone will even try to argue it was wrong to censor the Mark Fiore app but that Apple should censor this one.
Long, long ago, I heard that it was wrong to fight ruthless dictators in oil-rich countries. It was wrong even if the dictator in question had viciously attacked his own people, supported terrorism and harbored terrorists. It was a sure sign of Western racism because the people who lived in that country aren't white. Even the fact that the UN had imposed sanctions against that country, like they have against Libya, was not a mitigating factor.
Dictators in non-white, oil-rich countries should be free to hurt whomever they want, for whatever reason they want, in any manner they want, inside their own country and, using terrorist attacks, in other countries. That's what we learned. But apparently the lessons were forgotten.
They told me if I voted for John McCain that these war policies wouldn't change, that we'd still have troops in Iraq and Afganistan for years, and that the President might even attack other oil-rich countries. And they were right!
I think the incident in Japan may actually help nuclear power. Now, instead of crazy fantasy scenarios, we'll have actual failures to point at. Now we can show the failure modes and how they are addressed on newer designs (passive convection cooling). Now we can point out the massive destruction (none) and death toll (one ?) from a catastrophic failure.
And now we need electric power, and there's no other way to generate it. Will greens let us burn coal more coal? No. Will they let us run power lines hundreds on miles out to the desert for solar power? No. They're trying to stop fracking for natural gas. They're trying to stop new pipelines from being built. They've stopped the importation of liquid natural gas by blocking offloading terminals. And windmills generate an almost insignificant amount of power.
Meanwhile, we're all supposed to buy electric cars. Where is the electricity supposed to come from? Nuclear is the only option left.
Yeah. I understand that. But they have the same burden: they are associated with the bias and corruption because they share the same brand name with the biased prizes.
Also, some winners of the prizes are using their status to promote government power over people. Government power over people always leads to corruption.
It's too bad. It would be nice if we had people to genuinely honor and admire without having to worry about regretting it later.
And, right now, there is real democracy and (relative) peace in Iraq. It isn't a utopia, and everything didn't go exactly as planned, and anything could change at any time, but we won the war and Iraq is currently a success.
But no credit or anything. Only complaints and conspiracy theories.
And again this complaining about Iran. What was exactly the right thing to do in Iran? What was exactly the right time? Who was the right leader? What, exactly, would have been the correct outcome? Why didn't your country do the right thing at the right time and promote the right leader? Why didn't they even try?
We had a cold war to win. Communists killed more than 100 million people in a dozen countries on 4 continents.
Why should the US have anything to say about any policy from 50 years ago? Clinton went around the world apologizing for a dozen different things. Obama is doing the same, and bowing to kings and emperors and every other kind of national leader. But it doesn't do any good. You're still complaining.

No it doesn't. Getting something "early" has extra value, so companies charge more.
If getting it early does not have extra value, then she would obviously be content to wait until the DVDs are available.

The merger will swell ranks of union that backs Democrats. This deal will be approved quickly so money will be available for the 2012 election.
No, tolerance doesn't mean accepting.

Why would a gay man want a wife?

Should every store that does not sell everything be expecting a law suit?
This is America. Everyone should always be expecting a lawsuit.
You're still arguing for a broadly defined policy with more censorship rather than a narrowly defined policy with less censorship.
But there is no rational reason to consider homosexuality as a problem...
What if a guy wants to have a wife and children? It seems like homosexuality would be a problem in that case. It might, at least, make things more challenging.
Men have been known to want a wife and children.
What is wrong with someone learning a new way of speaking and dressing? Would you deny these lessons to everyone, or just black folks?
Score is still 6-0. And you're arguing it should be only 4-0 or something. You have still offered zero facts.
I'd also expect them to censor an app which implies someone's sexuality is a thing which can or should be 'cured'.
Why? What if a guy wants to change? Shouldn't he be free to try? Or should other people decide "The Right Choice" for him?
And maybe he can't be "cured", but maybe he can have a life that is closer to his preference. You'd deny him the opportunity to try?
...but you're the one who's going to have to bring some more facts to the table.
Facts from me: 6.
Facts from you: 0.
It will be interesting to read how many people want this app censored. I'm guessing someone will even try to argue it was wrong to censor the Mark Fiore app but that Apple should censor this one.
Especially when it is asserted with zero supporting arguments.

Maybe it's because the anti-war protests were mostly phony all along.
They told me if I voted for John McCain that these war policies wouldn't change, that we'd still have troops in Iraq and Afganistan for years, and that the President might even attack other oil-rich countries. And they were right!

Fortunately people don't want that $50 over-priced nonsense and show otherwise....
So you're saying no one wants $50 games? How did GTA4 make a half billion dollars in it's first week then?
One way was by not releasing it on PC for a while. That prevented a lot of ordinary people (who haven't modded their XBox) from getting a pirate copy.
Yeah. I understand that. But they have the same burden: they are associated with the bias and corruption because they share the same brand name with the biased prizes.

Unless you want to suggest the Turing Award is as biased and corrupt as the Nobel Prize awards, you shouldn't conflate the two.
So your HR people systematically screen out good people based on useless qualifications.
