    Look at the word 'corporations'. It means that they've been given a 'body' and, thus, have rights -- as they also have responsibilities. Having the one without the other would be, um, bad.

    You're looking at it from the wrong end... I have an original iPad and it still works just fine for what we need. I may buy more of them. It may break but, in the meantime, I have no need to replace it.

    I think epicycles had gotten a bad rep.

    They're just the easier math of a Sun-centered system in a harder Earth-centered frame of reference. The fact that it worked (well) has always impressed me.

    Another really important question is just how much of the world's creative potential is devoted to creating meta-inventions on top of rulesets intended for something else entirely rather than, say, bringing about world peace, curing cancer, feeding the hungry, or just plain moving out of your mom's basement.

    I don't think there is a single person out there who would elect to go through with having a child with disabilities if they had any practical choice in the matter.

    Ah! That's where you'd be wrong. People do choose to have children with DS. (And it's not about the $s)

    Of all the people that I've seen with DS, only one of them has been an "angry" person. Most have been among the happiest people that I've ever met.
