When I upgraded my system from to RH7 I lost the ability to play Q3A. Loki's site says they support my software (XFree 4.0.2) and hardware (G400), but won't answer my support requests. It's a shame because it would be sad for them to lose customer base and go under because they ignore people who purchase their products.
Sure, kids in these countries have the right to work to help their families. Unfortuately, they also have the right to work long hours for low wages with no benefits and in unhealthy conditions. That would fit my definition of expoitation.
They have the ads available on their website. They give you a choice of viewing them with Quicktime or Windows Media Player. Gee thanks, I think I'll just visit the Guinness site... no wait!! The entire Guinness web site can't be viewed from a Linux browser.
No case is complete without a scotgold (www.scotgold.com) linux badge:

I went to Home Depot to order a sheet of Formica for a project and not one person in the store knew how to order the stuff. They had samples and catalogs, I just couldn't buy it. I waited for almost an hour while they paged everyone in the store. I ended up going to Menards.
The release notes (link in the story) say Mozilla requires 64MB of RAM. Of course it doesn't really require that much. Are they trying to scare people off?
I gave up my privacy this morning by getting in my car and driving to work. I was forced to look at buses plastered with ads. And there were signs everywhere along the roads with ads on them. I feel so "dirty" now.
I'll give Craig Bohl one more year to put a decent defense on the field. They need linebackers and defensive backs... now!
NU should do better next year with a nice crop of fast I-Backs. No more of this big, slow, powerful, can't-get-to-the-outside crap.
Jesus, they lost to Kanas State. Yes, Kansas State. How embarassing. KSU, the worst team of all time. But the KSU fans are so stupid, they tore down the goalposts like they've never won a game before.
My calendar has the year grouped into 12 units called "months". Each unit has between 28 and 31 days. The units have unique names that people can reference. As people become familiar with the names and order of the months, they can quickly determine what time of year is referenced when the name appears. Seems like a better scheme than the "week" calendar: "My birthday is on week 16, day 2 of 1964."
Yes, I paid $3700 US for a titanium wheelchair. It's an awesome chair. Not much to it. Very light, yet it feels like it will last forever. Worth the cash since I spend most of my time in it. I just wish the medical industry wouldn't rape the disabled so badly.
What kills me is thinking what I had to pay for it when I see cool stuff that seems 'expensive', but at half the price of my chair. Like the huge, loaded, riding lawn mower I wanted to get was 'only' $2200. It seems infinitely more complicated than my simple 17 pound chair for about half the price. And that Itanium upgrade...

The above comment refers to Team Arena which was a Quake 3 Arena add-on. Unfortunately, it was only available in a Windows version.

Do not operate Heavy Gear under the influence of Wine!
... a Sandra Bullock, and a side of Catherine Zeta-Jones.

All 5 of my PCs have one of these puppies.
I don't know why people in the discussion where using poor support for NVidia hardware on Linux as an excuse for not buying the Linux version of Q3A.
If you are a Linux user and want to play games on Linux, why the hell did you buy a NVidia card?
Of course, support is better now. But when Q3A was released, it was poor.

That guy was hilarious!!!

Pretty soon my kids will be begging for Linus pajamas and lunch boxes.
If you could get a Corvette engine, but no Corvette, could you still go 90 miles per hour?
I've been told performance isn't related to size.
11 oz. water
1 oz. real beer (e.g. Guinness)
1/4 cup sugar
dash of skunk scent
Stir lightly, add carbonation, package and overcharge.
Sorry, I'm just not up on this anime trend. Can someone tell me the correct pronounciation?
OK, that was bad.
NPR has pretty decent, detailed, non-US-centric news. It's really refreshing to listen to news about REAL issues from all over the world.

Thanks, Hans.
Journaling file systems are explained quite clearly in the article.
