In the US, counties are required by law to provide ADA accessible voting solutions. If you are blind, how can you put an X by the candidate of your choice?
I generally agree, but a cell phone probably saved the life of a friend of mine who stopped to render aid to a car which had slid off the interstate. Another car hit my friend at 65 mph. He lost half his leg, but lived thanks to quick medical aid.
Why is it so hard to believe that someone might carry an object up or down a flight of stairs? That's complex when you don't have hands available to do the carrying.
He's right though, giving up your hands just so you can go up/down stairs is not a reasonable trade-off. You might be able to navigate stairs, but you couldn't hold anything. You can't always sit stuff in your lap due to wind and the object (e.g. glass of beer). Also, devices like this are not practical to put in your car.
The first thing I tried to do was create a presentation and export jpg images of the slides. Open Office couldn't do this, or I couldn't figure out how to do it. Back to PowerPoint, which does this easily. Damn.
Yeah, my big complaint is the ugly editor font. I can't stand looking at it all day long. Cleartype can't come soon enough.
Also, the active editor tab is just barely a different shade than all the rest and is difficult to locate right away. And the tab color is fixed. It isn't customizable. Lame.
Because the nerves in the spinal cord are broken. The brain works and the muscles work, but the spinal cord can't transmit the messages between the two.
It's like your ISP not working and you asking "why can't you just connect my PC directly to Yahoo!?"
The simple answer is "Vote Selling".
Thanks to Slashdot/BBV for the links to free software! Please provide links to Photoshop, Office, and HalfLife while you are at it.
Really, what is the difference?

Ever since 1983 when my spinal cord was injured, I've heard over and over that a "cure" is only 5 years away. I'll belive it when I see it.
Great, then maybe my $3,200 wheelchair would only cost $2,999 thanks to the wonderful medical equipment industry.

If it were oil, the US would have invaded years ago.
Great! Now I'll just do that 300 times in a row. Wow, that really helps! .... back to Powerpoint, which exports all slides with one click.

...until we get a new president.
... and I read and posted comments about the article despite the fact that I don't own a TV.

What if the bully-ers are stalking the bully-ee at school so they can take photos for their cool website?
Agreed! I was reading while eating my lunch and nearly spit a mouthful of chips all over my keyboard.
I couldn't live without NPR. I don't listen to music on the radio because it stinks, but I listent to NPR every day.
Well, he was bipolar. So he could have been an asshole at times... but it was likely due to a genetic condition, not a choice.
I don't want a personal server.... I want Teresa.
Guns and ammo laying around. People running around shooting each other. Doesn't seem politically "liberal" to me.
Why would overclocking be immoral? If I buy something, I should be able to [ab]use it however the hell I please.
No I haven't, but I will. Thanks for the info.
That's why he donates so much cash to the FSF.
