What we are seeing here is a classic case of the death of an obsolete business model. The RIAA is part of the old guard and the whole reason for their existence is the current business model of selling and distributing music. They are fighting for their very existence. There will always be music and musicians and long may they prosper.

I don't know if people remember the pre IE days. Back then browsers weren't free and you didn't have much choice. I give MS credit where credit is due, without MS having a web strategy then the web as we know it today would still be a hobbyist toy and would not have gained the momentum it did.
It's all about pent up demand. The file sharing networks can't stop people from downloading something they really want to see when they want to see it.
Waldorf: Statler.. Statler: Uh what Waldorf: Is that it? Statler: Yes. It's over. How did you like it? Waldorf: I don't know, I slept through the whole thing. Statler: Well you didn't miss much.
It's incredible how fucked up you Americans are about sex. If you are offended by material a store is selling how about not shopping there anymore, if enough people do it the store will go out of business.
How about stop trying to impose your morality on others..
I don't understand why these companies keep coming up with trivial add-ons therefore making the damn thing more expensive. I want a good gaming platform that does just that. Instead we have them adding things like mp3 players, mobile phones, address books, blah, blah fucking blah. Is that too much to ask for?
I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a... fraid. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you.
Does it run linux?

No the RIAA has nothing to do with selling music. So think before you post...

Sounds like a poor excuse. But then people use excuses to justify any position.

Is it just me? Or has there been less mention of TCO between MS v Linux...

It can only be attributable to human error.
