I disagree:
Most student will just forget it in record time.
Worst part is they could have given something of equal complexity to study but USEFUL.
But they won't.
Real application to knowledge or theory is dirty.
At least that seem to be the mind set in pure science study I attended.
Advanced math is just there to "weed out" weaker student. Nothing more.
ugh ladder-logic yes It had to be mentionned.
At first I hated it because it was so utterly outdated (simulate relays when actually running on a silicon asic).
But it very visual, can be simple if programmer is consistant.
Simple I/O is the best for ladder but some tasks maybe very awkward to do.
Linux driver have come a long way.
15 years ago it was a nightmarish hell
10 years ago hell.
5 years ago, mostly with wifi not working out of the box and often sound.
nowadays it usually just works.
The next battle is better video driver, firmware blob included in some device, and anything ARM.
Well it's a law.
insult a policeman on the street and he can give you a +100$ fine (just like article).
For a non-tech person, doing the same on the net seems logical.
But they don't understand shit about what it implies to apply this law, privacy wise.
Other than, wow, almost no Québec bashing on this thread (less than 50%), that's progress!

To use with my quantum computer, powered by nuclear fusion reactor.
Kind of sound like bad Sci-Fi but so did the NSA stuff...

And Rossi's e-cat being another (hopefully before 2020).
If you are waiting for a newer/better kernel I've heard good thing about hurd. It should be release just in time for the year of the linux desktop.
