You're right of course, but the concern is over the methane they produce, not carbon dioxide. methane is hundreds of times more potent a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

i had read an article where the nervous system of a leech was connected to a microchip. seems like the only option is to graft each cut end to an i/o microcontroller board and sort out the rewiring in software. but then nerves are not electric cables and i doubt the technology exists to simulate their inputs or outputs. it would be better to start off small with a cut nerve say to a finger in an amputee rather than jeopardise a mans life over it.

There are (though they are changing now) psychopathic headhunter societies in places like new guinea that have lived for tens of thousands of years by murdering members of other tribes, mainly as a rite of passage, although also for cannibalism. They have outlived all other collapsed civilisations, like the mayans, aztecs, romans by keeping to themselves and keeping their population down so that they do not exhaust their resources. Although kuru, or creutzfeld-jacob disease is endemic there, schizophrenia is completely absent for reasons which are inexplicable which does tend to point to them being physically and mentally healthier than most developed countries.

At one time I might have agreed with you, but I have seen the damage that intensive schooling can do to a young person's mind. In Ireland, 1/3 of all school going children are on antidepressants/antianxiety meds. That tells me that there is something very unnatural at work in these institutions and when I think about those I went to school with that are dead or disabled now, I wonder if they would have been better off with minimal schooling and a trade. Sometimes the only person you can count on is yourself and not even always. I would teach that girl to understand the consequences of her actions and seek a reason for everything she does rather than force her into something she does not want. Wise man once say: when everone else is going up the road, you should aim to go down it.
